It looked for about 40 minutes like the Washington Redskins were going to keep their win streak alive against the New York Jets. The Green Team's last win over the 'Skins came way back in 1993. In this game, Washington's defense did what it could to suppress Jets' scoring to the level the offense could beat. Then the offense and special teams sabotaged the effort. You don't need the details in this litany. Special teams covered a kick-off poorly to give the Jets midfield position. Roy Helu and Rex Grossman lost fumbles. Helu's fumble killed a drive. Grossman's fumble sealed the win for the Jets. Graham Gano botched an onsides kick to preclude Washington's comeback that was low odds in any event. Will Horton at the This Given Sunday blog best summed this puppy: "Give the Redskins some credit: behind Roy Helu's running, they gave the Jets a game for a full three quarters. But then Rex Grossman rexed it up, and the Jets got a big win going aw...

Darrelle Revis on Rex Grossman

I’m pretty sure I’ve successfully diagnosed one issue that the Redskins are facing. It’s like a contradiction or something. 1) They say they’d like to win the turnover battle. 2) They employ Rex Grossman. Grossman, bless him, has 18 turnovers in his nine starts this season. His 15 interceptions are third in the NFL, and he has 95 fewer pass attempts than anyone else in the...

Tebow Time in Minnesota

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow did it again. Tebow led another late rally to help the Denver Broncos beat the Minnesota Vikings 35-32 at the Metrodome on Sunday afternoon. Tebow passed for a season-high 202 yards and scored two third-quarter touchdowns to lead the Broncos to their fifth straight win. And once again the pro-Tebow fans...Read the Rest...

Bears open as underdog vs Broncos

Dec 11, 4:05 PM | Grass of Sports Authority Field at Mile High Chicago Bears vs Denver Broncos Odds 7-5TEAM RECORD7-5 Can Tim Tebow continue to weave his strange magic this week as the Denver Broncos host the Chicago Bears? The Bears are 6-1-1 ATS in their past 8 games with the Broncos since 1981, but they scored just 3 points last week and still don't have a QB with...

Roy Helu, Rex Grossman rejuvenate Redskins' offense

Roy Helu's individual brilliance on his 28-yard touchdown run in last Sunday's victory served as the exclamation point on the his breakout game. The Washington Redskins' rookie running back hurdled a cornerback, bulldozed a safety and then raced to the end zone for a fourth-quarter touchdown that will be replayed ...

Akh’s Thoughts: Week 13

1-While the skins did fight for most of this loss against the Jets, they simply weren’t good enough to survive a generally mediocre game turned in by most of the players. Grossman, to his credit, held of from his usual turnovers for most of the game, but didn’t you just know that bad rex would show up at the most inopportune time? The defense held the jets generally in check...

NFL Monday Morning Rewind

… Ugh. Denver 35, Minnesota 32: Did Tim Tebow do it again or did Tim Tebow do it again? Sidenote – Lets all just pretend that the Vikings are a real NFL team this year. It helps with the whole Tim Tebow mystique. Also, this was awesome. NY Jets 34, Washington 19: You want to win with Rex you have to be prepared to lose with Rex and when you lose with Rex, woof. Sidenote ...
