The $64 million question since the Eagles packed their bags for a long offseason has been what the Birds would do with Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo. It appears as though the answers are in… According to multiple reports, it is expected that Juan Castillo will return as the Eagles defensive coordinator for the 2012 season. There had been speculation even before Steve Spagnuolo was fired from St. Louis that the Eagles would bring him back as defensive coordinator and replace Castillo. Many have taken head coach Andy Reid’s silence as a condemnation of Castillo’s performance believing if Castillo would return Reid would just say so. But Andy Reid has not spoken to the press at all since the Eagles season ended. Despite the ire of the fans, Reid has given no indications of his intentions. According to a report by CSNPhilly’s Ruben Frank, Castillo’s job may never really have been in peril anyway. Frank speculated that Reid was never serious about replacing the embattled Offensive Line Coach turned Defensive Coordinator. According to the same report, the Philadelphia Eagles will replace departed defensive backs coach Johnnie Lynn with former Miami Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles. Bowles will be a solid addition, and will oversee the entire Eagles’ secondary. Andy Reid is expected to speak to the press on Tuesday according to the reports. Similar Posts:
