Found July 12, 2013 on SteelBlitz Steelers Blog:
Right now the NFL is sitting in the dead-zone of the off-season. We have effectively ended all off-season moves and news, but haven’t yet gotten to training camp. Therefore, most media and blogs, including us, are looking for any and everything that we can discuss until the news starts coming in again. One of the big topics that has been going around the last few days is the following: Who is the most important Pittsburgh Steeler heading into the 2013 season? That’s a hard question to answer because there are many things that you have to take into account. The easy answer of course would be to say that the most important player on the team is, and always will be, the quarterback. They are considered the leader and the Steelers have Ben Roethlisberger to rely on. As others have said, and I agree with this thought, as long as the [...]

Pittsburgh Steelers: Thoughts on playing in London this season

This season the Pittsburgh Steelers will play their first ever game in London, England. The game will be played at Wembley Stadium and they will be hosted by the Minnesota Vikings. The NFL has been playing games in London since 2007 and this year the black and gold get to represent themselves in London. Recently Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger took a visit to...

Tight End David Johnson Has One More Shot To Continue His Career With The Steelers

Going into the Pittsburgh Steelers 2012 Training Camp, one of the more anticipated position battles was between David and Will Johnson at fullback. Going into camp I gave David the edge because of his blocking ability and his experience on the team though I would not have been shocked to see Will win the job. Will had displayed great athleticism and a potential to be a nice receiving...

The Pittsburgh Steelers Most Underrated Moves of the 2013 Off-Season

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a typical off-season again this year. Their bigger moves were the ones that had to do with players leaving the team. James Harrison, Keenan Lewis, Casey Hampton, Max Starks, Rashard Mendenhall and Mike Wallace are all gone and a lot of young players are on the verge of playing much bigger roles for the team. Even though the team didn’t make any big moves...

No Vacation for Roethlisberger… On Vacation

For those of us fortunate enough to be able to go on vacation, we know why we like to go vacation don’t we? The general idea is that we get away from our normal lives and the everyday grind and we go relax somewhere. Maybe we go hiking or golfing or just simply do something that makes us feel good like lay on the beach for 10 hours a day. Thus the idea of vacation! For Pittsburgh...

Healing Of Troy And The Youth Movement To Come: A Look At The Steel Curtain Defensive Backs

In 2012 Polamalu battled injuries and only managed to start in 7 games, recording 34 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception. Polamalu battled a nagging calf injury all last season, nothing new for Troy as he has been ravaged by injuries throughout his career. I guess 10 years of hitting like he hits does take its toll on the body. Polamalu’s aggressive style is what has made...

Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp Battles: Jarvis Jones vs Jason Worilds

Arguably the biggest off-season move for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013 was the loss of James Harrison. Harrison and the Steelers could not agree on a pay-cut for the veteran linebacker, which led to his release. Harrison, now a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, will play his old team twice a year and has left a large hole to fill on the Steelers roster. That task of replacing...

CB Cortez Allen excited for opportunity to start: ‘Anybody who plays the game of football has dreams of one day being a starter’

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected CB Cortez Allen in the fourth round, 128th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. Before the draft, analyst Mel Kiper considered Allen a "sleeper." The team's first intentio was to use Allen in the slot on nickel downs, and bring in William Gay to man the outside opposite Ike Taylor. However, the Steelers think Allen could have enough...

AFC North: July stock watch

Cincinnati Bengals, FLAT: The Bengals, like the Steelers, have all the appearances of a well-rounded football team. The only difference is that Cincinnati is also better rounded when it comes to age. If Andy Dalton makes the leap from "solid" to joining quarterbacks like Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco in the second tier, the Bengals could surprise a lot of people with...
