Anyone that has followed the Falcons the last six years knew that the Falcons were going to make a move in the draft. Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff has made at least one trade in the draft since 2008 and it was no different this year as the Falcons moved up to No. 22 from No. 30 in the first round of the draft to select cornerback Desmond Trufant from the University of Washington. “I’m very excited about adding Desmond,” Falcons head coach Mike Smith said. “He is a guy that seems to find the football.” To say drafting Trufant was a huge need for the Falcons would be an understatement. With the loss of Brent Grimes, Christopher Owens and Dunta Robinson, the Falcons were in need of a cornerback and Trufant fits all the Falcons were looking for. “He’s a very athletic individual,” Dimitroff said. “He’s very fast. He’s a legitimate 4.4 guy.” Trufant not only is athletic and very fast, he is also a leader which is another quality the Falcons look for when it comes to drafting play

Chiefs make a mistake by selecting Eric Fisher, another coming?

According to many, the Kansas City Chiefs chose the wrong tackle when they selected Eric Fisher with the first selection of the 2013 NFL Draft. Per WalterFootball.com, Chiefs GM John Dorsey wanted Luke Joeckel while Andy Reid and the coaches were in favor of Fisher. Fisher, Reed, and the other coaches would win out. Fisher was the first non-quarterback to be selected with the...

Falcons Select Robert Alford in Second Round

In the first round, the Atlanta Falcons traded up and filled a need by selecting Washington CB Desmond Trufant. We looked at the players left on the board after the end of day one and there was definitely some good talent left at positions that filled more needs for the Falcons. Instead of going after a different need, the Falcons threw another pick at the cornerback position...

The Atlanta Falcons closed their NFL draft by selecting Duke quarterback Sean Renfree with their last of three seventh-round picks. Kansas City Chiefs select Eric Fisher, Grade: A-

It’s tough to get too excited about Eric Fisher as the No. 1 pick, but it’s a solid fit and fills a need. Fisher may start his career at right tackle if the Chiefs hang on to Branden Albert, but Fisher’s future is definitely on the left side. When you consider what Alex Smith did behind a solid line and a great running game in San Francisco, this could help the Chiefs turn...

Chiefs aren't done fishing or dangling, in the case of Albert

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Fishing? The Kansas Chiefs aren't just fishing, brother. Apparently, they're still dangling, too. "Well, right now, he's a Kansas City Chief," coach Andy Reid said when asked Friday about Branden Albert, who insists he's either going to play left tackle or take his ball and go home. "That's what he is as we speak right now. ...

Atlanta Falcons Draft: Day Two Preview

In day two of the NFL Draft, the Falcons have one pick on the board (pick #60). With one pick today the Falcons...

After hitting hard on cornerbacks with our 1st and 2nd (and essentially, 3rd) round picks Atlanta finally addresses...

A Dolphins Draft Wish List

The 2013 draft has to be the most unpredictable draft of the last several years, with few sure things and a whole lot of speculation. It starts from the very top of the draft, where nobody is quite sure what the Kansas City Chiefs will do with the first overall pick and it definitely includes what the Dolphins will do at No. 12.
