Zack Bowman, a cornerback for the Chicago Bears and former teammate of Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh at Nebraska, had some unpleasant words to say about the All Pro. He told the Chicago Sun-Times that the Bears will have to keep on eye on Suh because he will "do something nasty" on the field.
"Not like disgusting - but cheap shot, cheap hit, because he is kind of known for that."
Bowman, who played with Suh from 2005-07 said that Suh's reputation as a dirty player started to develop in his last two years at Nebraska. Now, Bowman says, "it's out of control".
"Obviously that's the type of player he wants to be in this league. He has a reputation for it and it fits him well. And if it ain't broke, why fix it? And some teams do fear him"
To corroborate Bowman's message, Suh has been fined three times since coming into the NFL, including once last year for a weak forearm to Bears quarterback Jay Cutler's upper back. It's interesting that Bowman would make these comments seeing that he's on defense and won't have to be on the field at the same time Suh is. It's like an American League pitcher calling out another AL pitcher. And while the Bears might not be one of those teams that "fear" Suh, they're talking about him, so he's in their head already.

As for Bowman ripping a fellow Cornhusker, the two obviously weren't friends in school. Suh was on WXYT 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit today talking about how the upcoming Monday night game is just another game. He did say it'll be fun playing against a friend. It wasn't Bowman, but rather Bears defensive tackle Amobi Okoye.

But hey, Suh is cheap - cheap like his rookie contract which is in the process of paying him $68 million over five years.
