The Chicago Bears will retain only two quarterbacks in 2022 as they have cut Nathan Peterman. Trevor Siemian will serve as the primary and only backup to Justin Fields. Furthermore, they have also waived Sam Kamara.
The Bears signed Peterman in May. While his career has been rocky, to say the least, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport expects him to land on the Bears’ practice squad.
Peterman’s only played ten games in the NFL and spent two years with both the Bills and Raiders.
The Bears waived Sam Kamara, who played in eight games in 2021 for Chicago.
Sam Kamara has been waived by Chicago per source. The DL led the preseason in QB pressures. They plan to bring him back to practice squad if he clears waivers.

He played well during the preseason and if he clears waivers, the Bears will likely sign him to the practice squad.
The Chicago Bears are only beginning to make their roster cuts. It isn’t entirely surprising the Bears cut Nathan Peterman but waiving Sam Kamara is a bit of a shock considering his talented play of late.
