TEAMS: Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery told the media that he’s not interested in signing Plaxico Burress, Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson even though they’re banged up at the receiver position.‘‘We feel very good about our wide receiver depth,’‘ Emery said, via the Chicago Sun-Times. ‘‘We added a player to our practice squad [second-year pro Kamar Aiken] to make sure that we were in a good, competitive situation for practice to continue to improve and that’s where we’re at right now with that.’’

Bears stepping up to help family of fan who was murdered before Jaguars game

The night before the Bears vs. Jaguars game a Bears fan Chris Pettry was murdered at a Jacksonville bar. Matthew Hinson confessed to slashing Pettry’s throat, but hasn’t given a reason why. Sometimes with a tragedy we only think about about the victim. We forget that with any tragedy there are far reaching effects on the living. Pettry had a wife and three kids. As you will see...

NFL Week 6 picks: Bears 101's game predictions

Finally, we at Bears 101 had a great week. We went 10-3 and improved our record to 41-32. For those that were still alive in their survivor leagues, they probably aren't anymore. Nobody predicted the Titans would beat the Steelers with how bad they've been playing recently. They prevailed, however, behind a late rally from Matt Hasselbeck. The Chicago Bears are off this week...

Bears rookie WR Alshon Jeffery broke a bone in his hand and will be out for a couple weeks. Some speculated the Bears would be interested in some of the higher profile wide receivers that are available on the market. According to Pro Football Talk, that idea was shut down quickly. ‘We feel very good about our wide receiver depth,’‘ Bears GM Phil Emery said, via Mark Potash...

Bears Safety Major Wright Has Been Solid in Run Suppport

At the moment it's time to eat some crow because after the first preseason game I called for the benching of Major Wright because of his out of control play.  While Wright was out of control in the first preseason game, it's become apparent through the first five of this season that the light bulb has clicked on. Wright has been solid in run support and has played in control...

Three games Chicago Bears fans should pay attention to this week

The Chicago Bears absolute domination of the Jaguars this past week included many good signs for the Bears such as the defense continuing to put up points, Cutler and Marshall continuing to improve together, and Matt Forte being back at full strength.  But there were a few things from the game to worry about.  Gabe Carimi’s unfortunate habit of drawing penalty flags, as well...

Tales from the Tape: Paea’s Presence
