The Bears on Tuesday cut a player who had been with them throughout last season, when they officially signed two free agents.
Linebacker Sterling Weatherford was signed just before last season after being waived by the Indianapolis Colts and now he's no longer with the Bears. The other player cut was punter Ryan Anderson, backup to Trenton Gill.
Weatherford got on the field last season for special teams only and was involved in 224 plays according to Sportradar. He was in on four special teams tackles.
The Bears signed former Steelers linebacker Buddy Johnson on Tuesday and wide receiver Isaiah Ford on Monday, so they needed to get back the two roster spots.
