Found August 30, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
PLAYERS: Jairus Byrd
TEAMS: Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills safety, Jairus Byrd, who just ended his lengthy holdout and unenthusiastically flew back into Orchard Park, New York, appears to have flown in with a busted talon. Josh Alper of NBCSports reports that Byrd, whose return to Buffalo has hit some turbulence, will seek a second opinion on his ailing foot.  It is not winter yet in Western New York but Byrd has flown south to North Carolina to see Dr. Robert Anderson.  Dr. Anderson is the founder of the O.L. Miller Foot and Ankle Institute and is one of the leading experts in complex foot and ankle disorders. Byrd has been limited in practice since returning to roost in Buffalo while trying to learn a new defense.  Byrd is a talented player.  However, he obviously still has a crow in his craw over last year’s franchise tag.  Instead of chewing on his mouthpiece and being thankful for the 6.9 million reasons he should be happy to play in the NFL, Byrd has made public his contract catfights with the Bills.  This only hurts Byrd.  Injury aside, Byrd should have let his voice be heard on the field and his future would have been filled with buckets of birdseed.  Now other teams and general managers have taken notice of how he handles his business. Soon, most teams will see him less as a prized Hyacinth Macaw and more like a run of the mill common Parakeet.   You can follow me on twitter @TheSoftParade69 Talk football talk cigars talk anything, I know a little about a lot. S Byrd getting second opinion on foot

Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd is getting a second opinion from foot specialist Robert Anderson on an undisclosed foot injury. Bills coach Doug Marrone made the announcement after the Bills' 35-13 preseason loss to Detroit on Thursday night. Byrd was with the team and was practicing as recently as Tuesday. It's unclear when he was hurt. The safety didn't report to...

Bills ride with Jeff Tuel into opener

Matt Leinart was smart enough to figure out that his time with the Buffalo Bills would be short-lived. The team cut him Friday and will keep three QBs on the roster: rookie EJ Manuel Kevin Kolb and Jeff Tuel. Manuel is recovering from minor knee surgery and Kolb is out with a concussion. Tuel will start the Sept. 8 season opener becoming the first undrafted rookie quarterback to...

Bills quarterback situation bleak as ever

As other teams have found out over the years, Matt Leinart isn’t the answer. That’s the lesson the Buffalo Bills learned after giving him a shot last night against the Detroit Lions. To be fair to Leinart, he was completely underprepared to be thrown into the Bills’ lineup, and he wasn’t necessarily working with the team’s best group of players either. Still, he needed...

QB Matt Leinart tweets that he's been cut by Bills

The Buffalo Bills might have to start an undrafted free agent at quarterback in Week 1 but apparently that's not a good enough reason to keep Matt Leinart around. Leinart the 10th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft tweeted on Friday that he's been released by the Bills. Although Leinart later deleted the tweet this is the internet and nothing is really ever deleted forever...

Matt Leinart Already Cut By The Bills

Remember it well, this week of August 25-31, 2013. For it marked the beginning and the end of the glorious Matt Leinart era in Buffalo. On Sunday, the Bills emerged triumphant in their pitched battle with the Jets to claim Leinart’s epic bro talents. After doing so, the next day the Bills expressed their intention to start undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel in their Week 1 game against...

Butler not sure he did enough to earn spot

BY DAN BEGNOCHECrezdon Butler played nearly the entire game Thursday night as one of two bubble corners for the Buffalo Bills trying to gain any inkling of an edge before final cuts take place at the end of this week.Did he do enough to survive? Even he’s not quite so sure.“When you evaluate yourself and you’re a competitor, you will never think you’ve done enough,” Butler...

5 things we know about Bills, Lions from preseason

The only encouraging news to come out of the Buffalo Bills' preseason finale occurred about 90 minutes before the opening kickoff. That's when rookie first-round pick EJ Manuel, dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, tested his injured left knee by throwing numerous passes to several teammates and coaches. Otherwise, what followed was a meltdown for the Bills (2-2), who unraveled...
