Embattled QB Mark Sanchez is back as the Jets’ starter. Photo Credit: Nick Laham, Getty Images Following the report that Greg McElroy was suffering from concussion-like symptoms during the week, Mark Sanchez is back as the Jets’ starter, at least for the final game of the regular season. Sanchez had been demoted before the Jets’ game last week vs. San Diego, a 27-14 loss. McElroy was sacked 11 times last week, and its likely that one of those hits caused McElroy some head trauma. The Jets play at Buffalo this week to close out the regular season. Sanchez, 6-8 as a starter this year, had his best game of the year during a Week 1 48-28 victory vs. the Bills (266 yards, three scores and one interception), so this may be his last, best chance to prove to some team that he’s worthy trade bait. He’s been benched twice this year in favor of McElroy, who was able to lead the Jets to one ugly victory vs. Arizona and one equally ugly loss vs. the Chargers. His time in New York as the starter has almost certainly come to an end. And still, Tim Tebow rots on the bench.
