Then 313-pound defensive tackle Sylvester Williams showed up for work. The Broncos' first-round draft pick missed the first practice before his agent and the team reached an agreement on a four-year $7.6 million contract that included a $3.9 million signing bonus and $6.1 million in guarantees.
"It felt good. I was so sad missing the first practice earlier today so I was eager to get out here tonight" Williams said after Thursday evening's session. "Even though it was a walk-through I was just happy to be back out here with some of the teammates."
A defensive tackle from North Carolina Williams was the No. 28 overall selection in the NFL draft April 25. He is expected to work in with the No. 2 base defense during practice Friday behind veterans Kevin Vickerson and Terrance Knighton.
