No one can confuse Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians as a “glass half-empty” kind of guy, at least after what he said at Carson Palmer’s introductory press conference on Tuesday, as he claimed his team now has the NFL’s best group of quarterbacks.
“I think our quarterback room is as strong as any in the National Football League,” Arians said.
FYI, three backup QBs currently sit on the roster behind Palmer: Ryan Lindley, Drew Stanton and Brian Hoyer.
Palmer, 33, completed 345 of 565 passes (61.1 percent) for 4,018 yards with 22 TDs to 14 INTs in 2012. The former 2003 first round selection (No. 1 overall) out of USC was just acquired by Arizona for a seventh-round pick in trade with the Oakland Raiders.
The Cardinals’ new head coach took things a step further, adding not only that their talent is strong at the skill positions and will continue to improve in the upcoming 2013 NFL Draft, but also that the team’s offensive line is better than most people think.
