The Pittsburgh Steelers invested two first round picks into defensive ends in recent years to help replace aging ends Aaron Smith and Brett Keisel. Those two players are Cameron Heyward and Ziggy Hood, but things haven’t gone as well as was hoped to this point. Hood is now starting in place of the retired Smith and has been in the line-up for a while due to injuries that forced him into the line-up. However, despite being praised consistently for his work in the weight room, Hood has struggled to transfer his strength and athleticism to the field. Heyward is entering his third NFL season and has yet to subplant Keisel at right end.
