Found December 20, 2011 on BuffaLowDown:
Take it easy, C.J.! Don't want you getting too tired! There’s no doubt about it: C.J. Spiller was really good in Buffalo’s loss to Miami this past weekend. He racked up 91 yards rushing on just 12 carries as well as picking up 76 yards receiving and two touchdowns. And he looked good doing it, showing off the speed and athleticism that enticed Buffalo to take him with the #9 overall pick in the draft in 2010. Therefore, it was truly baffling when coach Chan Gailey wouldn’t give him the freaking ball more. Spiller averaged 7.6 yards a rush Sunday, but only got 12 carries. (The Bills as a team only rushed the ball 19 times, while letting Ryan Fitzpatrick throw it 47 times.) Certainly didn’t make any sense to me. When asked about Spiller’s lack of touches, Gailey had a interesting explanation: “We’re trying not to wear the guy completely out. He’s not the biggest back in the world. I don’t think he can go out there and carry it 25 or 30 times. I don’t want to put him in that positi...

Gailey recruited Tebow

Bills coach Chan Gailey tried to recruit Denver quarterback Tim Tebow to come to Georgia Tech when Gailey coached at the Atlanta school. Both of Tebow's parents attended the University of Florida. So did Gailey, and the coach knew Tebow's father, Robert, in college. “He’s a great person. He’s a strong Christian, and he doesn’t mind letting everybody know that,"...

Bills Fall to Dolphins 30-23

C.J. Spiller played well. Not many other Bills did. The 2011 season can just go ahead and end now. The Bills’ historic collapse continued Sunday, as Buffalo fell to the Dolphins 30-23. The game really wasn’t anywhere near as close as the score indicated, as the Dolphins pretty much dominated from beginning to end. Buffalo rallied a bit in the 4th quarter, but really never threatened...

Embracing CJ Spiller, unlikely playoff hero

Here's a sentence that I didn't expect to write this season, or possibly ever... Buffalo's CJ Spiller led all running backs in fantasy scoring on Sunday, in a critical week, facing one of the league's top run defenses. Spiller finished with 12 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown against Miami in Week 15, and he added nine catches for 76 and another TD. Check the...

Stevie to be held out of practice

Bills WR Stevie Johnson wants to practice today, but head coach Chan Gailey is keeping him sidelined to rest his nagging groin injury. “It’s better,” said Gailey of Johnson’s groin ailment. “We’re going to hold him out today (Tuesday). He says he can go, but we’re going to hold him out today. That’s why I held him out at the end last week so we could have him for...

Chan still hopeful for Chandler

Bills TE Scott Chandler is still moving gingerly on his badly sprained ankle suffered two weeks ago in practice, but he got through a second straight day giving head coach Chan Gailey hope that he’ll be able to go come Saturday. “Chandler was limited, but he looked good,” said Gailey. “I think we’ve got a decent chance to have Scott this week.” Johnson has insisted he’ll...
