Chiefs re-sign standout linebacker to practice squad
USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs are filling a practice squad vacancy at the linebacker position.

Cole Christiansen suffered a hamstring injury against the New York Jets back in Week 4. He was placed on the practice squad injured list on Oct. 7, which is basically injured reserve for players on the practice squad. They'd left his spot on the practice squad vacant up until now.

According to the NFL personnel notice for Tuesday, the Chiefs have re-signed LB Isaiah Moore to the practice squad.

If you'll recall, Moore was an undrafted free agent out of NC State, who was signed by Kansas City following the 2023 NFL draft. He was with the team heading into training camp, but he suffered a knee injury early on and wound up waived with an injury designation, reverting to injured reserve once he cleared waivers. He was eventually waived from injured reserve with an injury settlement

It's no surprise to see Moore return to the Chiefs after he recovered from his injury. He recorded 341 total tackles, 43.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, one interception, eight passes defended, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 55 games played with the Wolfpack across five seasons. He figured to be a force on special teams for Kansas City prior to his injury and now he'll serve in a reserve capacity on the practice squad.

This move would fill the 16-man practice squad, but there is another pending move that should free another space up for the Chiefs (you can read about that below).
