Poor Chris Cooley. In a matter of 30 days his life has become a complete mess. He lost his NFL job in August when the Redskins cut him and now, according to the Washington Post, he’s getting a divorce from his ex-Redskins cheerleader wife, Christy. Once known as the godfather of NFL social media, Cooley is jobless and hasn’t used his Twitter account @thecooleyzone since March.
Now 30, Cooley is just a broken down ex-NFLer who will owe his ex-wife a chunk of money for their four-year marriage. He didn’t have a pre-nup.
The divorce, filed Aug. 29 in Loudoun County, has been in the works for months: The couple separated in January and, despite having no pre-nup, we’re told, have already hammered out a settlement deal.
“Both Christy and Chris worked hard to be reasonable with each other so they could settle this matter without litigation,” said her lawyer, Lindsay Hendrix. “They are both to be credited for reaching a resolution that permits their private lives to remain private.”
From what we can see of Christy’s Facebook account, it seems she isn’t having trouble rebounding from the divorce. Just 27, she has plenty of good years left to find another NFLer.

BEST OF MAXIM
The Washington Redskins and Robert Griffin III look like they have a bright future ahead of them. In one of the best opening performances by a rookie quarterback, RG3 and the Redskins upset the new Orleans Saints as nine points underdogs.
The upset win in week 1 was one of the more impressive victories and it prompted the online sportsbook oddsmakers to make the Redskins road...
Robert Griffin III stole the headlines following Washington's Week 1 victory over New Orleans, but Pierre Garcon helped the quarterback a great deal. Fortunately, Garcon's solid effort hasn't gone unnoticed. The wide receiver was given the first ever WWE 4th & Pain Championship Belt for helping to lead the Redskins to a win on Sunday. Garcon, who racked up 109 yards...
With Halloween about a month and a half away I’m sure many Redskins fans will start clambering for their very own Robert Griffin III mask and cape.
No this is not a joke and quite honestly it’s kind of scary.

Robert Griffin III says ''Griffining'' is ''pretty funny.''
It's the 2012 answer to ''Tebowing.'' The ''Grifining'' pose was born during the rookie's first NFL touchdown pass in the Washington Redskins' 40-32 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Griffin was hit while throwing the ball, then sat up...
Robert Griffin III was the first rookie ever to throw for over 300 yards and 2 or more TD without throwing an interception.
RGIII certainly is capable of becoming a future Pro Bowler, but the talent around may decide his fate at Washington.
There are a bevy of decent backs and receivers to allow RGIII to succeed, but everybody needs to relax about this future stud becoming a current...
1. Only the Desperate should Invest in Morris as a Starter
Redskins running back Alfred Morris seems to be generating as much discussion in the fantasy football world as anyone. As a (for now) starting running back for Mike Shanahan coming off a 28-carry, two-touchdown game in Week 1, it's easy to understand why heads are turning.
Morris doesn't have much speed at all...
Washington Redskins (1-0) at St. Louis Rams (0-1)
I had the Rams as one of my underrated teams coming into the season. They improved 6 games in 2010, but, as could have been predictable, regressed 5 games last year. Teams that have a large improvement in win total typically regress the following season and vice versa. They should bounce back this year. Teams that regress 5 games...
A lot was made of 5 rookie quarterbacks starting week one of the NFL season this year. Heading into the week most of us had no idea what to expect but when the dust settled this is what happened.
Andrew LuckBears beat the Colts 41-21
Luck went 23 for 45. He had three interceptions, one lost fumble and one touchdown. The first overall pick threw for 309 yards in a losing effort...
After jousting with the potent combination of Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, the Rams will be faced with an even more formidable duo - Robert Griffin III and the tremendous trail of media hype he is generating in his wake. However, this may be one of the few occasions where the hype is fully justified. Watching the game replay of last week's Redskins - Saints game...
– Washington Redskins defensive end Adam Carriker and co-host Chuck Carroll will award the 4th and Pain Championship Belt to the most deserving Redskins player each week. WWE provided an authentic championship belt to use.
– As we noted yesterday here on the website, Paul Heyman will make several house show appearances over the next few weeks. He is currently scheduled for the...
OK, so Week 1 could have gone a little bit better, but that's why there are 17 of these. The NESN.com NFL picks podcast got off to a rough 7-9 start in Week 1, but that's to be be expected. After all, what can you really expect out of anyone in Week 1? One team that took the podcast -- and a lot of others by surprise -- was the play of Robert Griffin III and the rest of the...
