Josh Gordon (@Browns) Sunday marks the return of 2012 Supplemental Draft pick Josh Gordon, and second year quarterback Brandon Weeden couldn’t be happier. With no viable deep threat or number one receiver, the Cleveland Browns passing game has been unremarkable to say the least. With the emergence of tight end Jordan Cameron and the arrival of slot receiver Davone Bess, the chance to expand upon a lackadaisical offense is within reach, and Sunday’s showdown in Minnesota will show the nation why. A product of Baylor University, Gordon spent two years with the team, putting up a decent 43 catches for 721 yards and seven touchdowns, catching passes from Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. Yet, during his sophomore year, Gordon was suspended for failing a drug test . He later transferred to Utah but it was too late to declare for the 2011 Supplemental Draft. The wait paid off though, as the Brown’s took him the next year and signed him to a four year contract worth 5.3 million dollars.   In his rookie season, Josh Gordon proved why he was worthy of a supplemental draft pick, becoming Weeden’s favorite target as he brought down 50 catches for 805 yards and five touchdowns. It was clear from the start that Gordon was Weeden’s favorite target and the lack of any other reliable receivers made it harder for them to connect, yet they still put up those solid numbers. Cleveland fans are not showing enough excitement for the return of Gordon when truthfully it deserves more hype. New Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner’s whole system revolves around a vertical passing game, and nobody on the team can catch a deep ball better than Gordon.   Look for an otherwise non-effective rushing game to improve this week, as more focus will be placed upon the improved passing game. Trent Richardson will thrive, and so will Weeden, as I predict the Browns will shred the Minnesota Vikings defense to the tune of at least three touchdowns. The bromance between Gordon and Weeden will be renewed, and Browns fans everywhere will understand why Turner and Rob Chudzinski were hired this past offseason. Prepare for the first win of the 2013 season, all you Cleveland faithful out there.

Browns’ Little in trouble again for multiple traffic violations

In addition to dropping several passes on Sunday afternoon, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Greg Little was once again cited for a traffic violation in the late hours. NFL News: Browns waive Tori Gurley to clear room for Josh Gordon

Wide receiver Tori Gurley was waived by the Cleveland Browns Tuesday evening to make room on the 53-man active roster for the soon-to-be-activated Josh Gordon. Gurley, 25, made one catch in his two games with the Browns. He was added to the roster from the practice squad shortly before Week 1, in a somewhat surprising move that had Cleveland waive backup running back Dennis Johnson...

Cleveland Browns trading Richardson is more about Weeden than T-Rich

With the Browns trading Trent Richardson today to the Colts for a 2014 #1 pick, it says a great deal about what they thought of him. The team, under the previous regime, spent the #3 overall pick last season on him, and they just dumped him for a pick that will likely be in the late teens or the 20's. While Richardson battled injuries and ran behind a bad offensive line, he...

Browns QB Brandon Weeden Could Be Forced To Miss Week 3′s Game

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports Browns QB Brandon Weeden is undergoing an MRI on his sprained right thumb. Weeden had X-rays taken after the game, which ultimately came back negative, but the fact that this injury is to his throwing hand suggests that it could cost him a game. HC Rob Chudzinski wouldn’t say whether or not they would turn to Jason Campbell if Weeden forced...

Giving up on 2013, Cleveland Browns trade RB Trent Richardson to Colts

The 0-2 Cleveland Browns have made a statement that they don’t plan on competing during the 2013 season. The team, which has a new front office and coaching staff, waited just two weeks into the regular season to shake things up. Shake things up they did. The Browns traded second year running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for the Colts 2014 first round...

Browns trade Trent Richardson to Colts for 1st Round Pick

What else should we expect from the Cleveland Browns?  We all knew that they weren’t going to be good this year with the 40 year old sophomore quarterback, but if they could have finished out the season with a bad record and drafted a good quarterback, they would have been contenders in the AFC North in a couple years.  But the Browns front office had vastly different things...

Little ticketed, car towed

It'll be years before we can determine who won the Trent Richardson trade

In one of the most shocking in-season trades in NFL history, sophomore running back Trent Richardson has been dealt from the Cleveland Browns to the Indianapolis Colts.
