After a day off, the Colts had another practice on Thursday, although once again the rain changed things. Again practicing in pads, the Colts moved their practice from Anderson University to the Colts' facilities in Indianapolis, due to the possibility of rain.

According to George Bremer of the Herald Bulletin, the condition of the fields at Anderson caused some concern to some inside the Colts organization, leading to the relocated practice. Friday's practice will not be in pads, and could be moved if weather is disagreeable.

The 'big' news of the practice was the injury suffered to Cory Redding, who left the field near the end of practice with what looked like an elbow injury on his left arm. It doesn't sound like the injury is major, but as of now it is an unknown. Redding will be evaluated when the team gets back to Anderson, meaning that updates will likely come tomorrow.

Read more notes from today's practice after the jump.

  • Kris Adams had another noticeable practice, with a long touchdown pass from Drew Stanton.
  • Jeremy Ross and Justin Sambrano had good days as well, with both pushing Adams for the final spot on the roster.
  • Coby Fleener had a couple more drops today, something he's struggled with a little bit during camp. I'm not worried about his hands at this point, but it is something to keep an eye on.
  • After a couple "down" days (Only by his standards, which are incredibly high), Luck was on the money again today: 18-26, and looked "especially strong" in third down scenarios.
  • Not from practice, but Colts' owner Jim Irsay announced that the preseason game against the Rams on Sunday has been sold out. I will be in attendance, making the drive down with a few family members. I got some cheap seats for the preseason; I'll be in the upper deck, but I can live with it.

The biggest thing to take away from camp today is the competition from those wide receivers. The Colts will likely carry no more than six receivers on the active roster, which would only leave one spot for those young, undrafted rookies. They may keep one or two on the practice squad as well, but either way they are fighting for their careers.

If I was to get my way, Kris Adams would stand out this month, carving out a spot for him on the team. He has speed to be a down-field threat (4.44 at the combine, ran a 4.38 on his pro day), and also has size that is missing in this group of receivers. At 6-3, he stands a full three inches taller than any of the other core receivers, and could be a very good down-field and red zone threat.

I'll have a list of things and people to watch for during games tomorrow, but I'll say right now that Kris Adams is one to watch, right up there with Jerrell Freeman.
