Found November 20, 2011 on
This year’s game two rematch between the Tony Romo led Dallas Cowboys and the Rex Grossman led Washington Redskins will only mean something to one team.  And that team is the Dallas Cowboys. The 3-6 Redskins share the NFC East basement with the Nightmare on Broad Street Philadelphia Eagles.  They are a team that is a mess, including Grossman who was benched for several games.  His comeback, if you can call it that, has been dreadful.  With the season just half over Coach Mike Shanahan has to be looking forward to next season already.  But a win over the playoff bubble Cowboys might make the 2011 medicine go down a little easier for the Redskins. I have always predicted, prior to the season that the NFC East teams would split their season series with each other.  It doesn’t seem to matter which team is playing which, or who is on a roll or who is struggling; NFC East teams beat the crap out of each other and the division winner is just happy to get out alive. Not this time for ...

Instant Analysis: Tony Romo continues to show why he's NFL's best QB in November

Rex Grossman's return gives Redskins a shot in the arm

Rex Grossman's completions of 17 and 20 yards on consecutive plays to start the Washington Redskins' second drive against the Miami Dolphins last Sunday were a reminder that it is indeed possible for this team to gain significant chunks of yards, to succeed and then build on that success. That ...

Redskins verify Romo's value

Sometimes, in order to appreciate what you have in life, you simply have to look at the circumstances that others deal with on a constant basis. As humans, we are able with great ease to check those more fortunate than us and allow jealousy to build up as we see the bigger and nicer house or car and feel that our possessions do not compare. Seldom do we look in the other direction...

Cowboys injury report: Fiammetta out, Kitna doubtful

With Felix Jones set to return after missing four games with an ankle injury, the Dallas Cowboys entered the week hopeful they would have a full complement of backfield weapons available Sunday at Washington. But it turns out that won’t be the case after all: The Cowboys ruled fullback Tony Fiammetta out with an illness Friday. “We’re trying to get to the bottom of what it...

Romo leads Cowboys in OT

LANDOVER, Md. -- Tony Romo went this way and that way, scrambling to find Laurent Robinson for the tying touchdown and Jason Witten for the go-ahead score -- both in the fourth quarter. When that wasn't enough, the Dallas quarterback used his feet again in overtime, buying enough time to spot Dez Bryant on a third-and-15.

Cowboys vs. Redskins: Mentality of a Winner?

Have The Cowboys Taken The Redskins Seriously? It seems like the second game against Washington means something big every year. Last season, Jason Garrett was trying to prove he was the man for the Head Coaching job. In 2009, it was Dallas’ ticket to the playoffs. In 2008, it was Tony Romo’s return to the field after a four-week hiatus in which a win was necessary for the Cowboys...

Tony Romo Almost Had Chris Webber Moment in Overtime

Tony Romo almost had a Chris Webber moment that could have cost the Cowboys in overtime against the Redskins Sunday. With the game tied at 24, the Cowboys quarterback called for a timeout prior to kicker Dan Bailey’s 39-yard field goal attempt. Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan also called for timeout at the same time. [...]

Jerry Jones "Was Very Nervous"

After taking a seven-point lead with a 59-yard touchdown pass from Tony Romo to Jason Witten in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s matchup with Washington, Dallas appeared to have firm control of the game. But, just as they had in the first half, the Dallas defense couldn’t hold off a late surge by the Redskins’ offense--and, with just 14 seconds remaining in regulation, Washington...

Look Who's In First Place!

Well, well, well. And here we were just a few weeks ago, ready to drive Tony Romo out of town and force Rob Ryan to braid his hair. After winning three in a row, your Dallas Cowboys are now, with tiebreakers factored in, in first place in the NFC East. Not only that, their aggregate point differential (+44) is the best in the division, proving their lead isn't a fluke! And you...

Cowboys still worried about Redskins’ trickery

Dallas center Phil Costa blamed his errant snaps in the Week 3 meeting with the Redskins on defensive end Stephen Bowen, a former Cowboy, and others mimicking Tony Romo’s cadence. With running back Tashard Choice now with Washington, the Cowboys are bracing themselves for another round of trickery. The Redskins signed Choice after the Cowboys cut him in late October.  “You always...
