Crazy Colts Fan - And With the No. 24 Pick in the 2013 NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts take... Last season the Indianapolis Colts surprised everyone by actually being competitive. This season there will be no surprises. The rest of the league is going to be ready for them--so they better fill some holes. The question is which one to fill--there's a bunch. Last season they were not particularly good at anything. They were okay at everything. So there are really multiple spots they could look to fill when their turn comes. The question will be which. Offensive line is the obvious pick. It is a miracle that Andrew Luck was upright as much as he was last season. Lucky for the Colts he happens to be as clutch as they come. No matter how much he was beaten up or how many guys were chasing him down he managed to get rid of the ball more often than not--and to someone on his team (gasp!). That kind of luck is not going to last forever for Luck. Some team is going to come up with a defensive scheme that he can't outrun--so they need to get better at blocking. The problem is that the linemen worth taking in the first round are likely going to be gone by time the Colts come up to bat. Chance Womack and Jonathan Cooper (guards) are expected to go top 12. Out of the tackles, three are expected to go top five, but the fifth rated one--Menelick Watson--could be available. But as the fifth rated offensive tackle you have to wonder if they would be better off taking a higher rated player at another position.... 2013 NFL Draft: Mock Draft Challenge v. 2.0

We are on the cusp of the 2013 NFL draft, likely the second biggest day in the season for NFL fans behind only the Super Bowl. It is a hyped, grandiose event that acts as the symbolic renewal, or turning of the wheel for each team. Think of it, if you will, as a sort of “out with the old and in with the new” kind of thing. Of course, with every NFL draft comes a multitutde of...

Indianapolis Colts listening to Offers for #24 Pick

The Indianapolis Colts could be moving on draft night. They have been receiving a lot of offers from many teams looking to trade into the first round.A thing that we see every year are teams that trade into the first round. They have their eye on a guy they like and they go for him. They usually have to get a lot, but they usually get their guy. The 2012 Vikings were a great example...

Indianapolis could go several ways in NFL draft

The Indianapolis Colts are looking at everything and everyone in this year's NFL draft. A year after taking Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick, general manager Ryan Grigson heads into his second draft with a different perspective. He's no longer looking for a franchise quarterback. He's looking to plug a hole with the No. 24 overall pick Thursday night. The Colts...

With the 24th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected Bjoern Werner, DE out of Florida State. So, what do Colts fans know about the young man from Berlin, Germany? Well, to start with, he’s young (only 22), and comes in at 6’3″ and 266 lbs. At that size, he could potentially play DE in the Colts 3-4 scheme, but head coach Chuck Pagano has already come out...

Colts listening to offers for 24th overall pick in 2013 NFL Draft

According to Kareem Copeland of NFL.com, the Indianapolis Colts have been talking to teams about the 24th overall pick the team owns in the 2013 NFL Draft. Several teams have contacted general manager Ryan Grigson to work a deal. The Colts could trade down and gain more picks to build on a very successful return to winning ways in 2012. The spot is outside of the reach for...

Bjoern Werner is coming to the Colts!

The Colts did such an awesome job of re-stocking with offensive players last year, it seemed fair to expect them to nail this year’s draft. They needed help on defense, and they needed interior linemen and they likely needed more pick than what they started with. Tonight was only the first round, so there is more to come, but I thought I would share a quick thought on Bjoern. Meh...

Colts' Dwayne Allen "can't stand the draft"

Every player eligible for the NFL Draft just wants to hear his name called and be given a chance to compete at the highest level of their sport. While some will consider it a dream no matter where they're drafted, some will come in with a chip on their shoulder due to where they were drafted at. Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen falls into the latter category. Allen...

Werner a nice pick for Colts at #24

With the 24th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft the Colts took Bjoern Werner, German-born defensive end from Florida State. Sehr gut. I like the pick. And, point of interest, he’s the first guy named Bjoern to ever be drafted in the NFL. To be honest, when I saw Xavier Rhodes was still available at this pick I was pretty excited about the Colts picking up the big corner from Florida State...

Indianapolis Colts select Bjoern Werner

The Indianapolis Colts have selected Bjoern Werner, defensive end from Florida State. The Colts now have another pass rusher in Bjoern Werner. He's a 4-3 DE, but has the ability and versatility to become a 3-4 OLB. He is a tremendous athlete who doesn't do one thing extremely well, but does everything very well. He had 13 sacks this last season.Werner should compete for the...
