Found August 09, 2013 on Pro Sports Daily:
We already know that the 2013 season is awfully important for Bears quarterback Jay Cutler's future. He's in the final year of his contract and he most likely won't be receiving a long-term extension before the end of the season (so says general manager Phil Emery who did however choose Cutler over former coach Lovie Smith). And it makes sense to pay Cutler his $8.47 million this season and just wait to see what happens afterward because there's no telling if Cutler new coach Marc Trestman and new offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer will mesh. And Cutler as we know with Mike Martz and Mike Tice has a history of not getting along with certain offensive coordinators and now he's being asked to learn and run Trestman's high-tempo West Coast offense. So how's the new relationship between quarterback and head coach blooming thus far? “We're getting more and more comfortable with each other trusting each other more and more" Cutler said Tuesday via ...

Bears Preseason Opener Is A Brutal Tease

I loathe preseason football, even if the Chicago Bears are playing. It might be the biggest tease that comes every a year. There are guys on my television wearing football gear. They're definitely on a football field. There's even a pigskin out there. But what in Sam Hill are those guys doing with it?Preseason football kind of looks like a football game, but it really isn...

Exclusive: Witness to Jay Cutler DON’T CARE story talks Monday

I tracked down an actual eye witness to the infamous Jay Cutler “DON’T CARE” bathroom incident. And I have his account in hand. Of course, today is a Sunday, and that’s a very slow traffic day. So it’ll have to wait for Monday. What time Monday? The hour when most people are opening their inboxes, or going online during their lunch breaks. And most editors are done with...

What is a realistic expectation for Jay Cutler?

For as long as they have been in existence, the Chicago Bears have been defined by defense. That proud tradition has been carried on in the past decade, when the head coach was defensive-minded Lovie Smith and the face of the franchise was middle linebacker Brian Urlacher. Both of those men were jettisoned this offseason, […]The post What is a realistic expectation for Jay Cutler...

Will Chicago Bear Devin Hester soon become a dinosaur?

Does Devin Hester, sans the wide receiver’s gloves, suddenly offer too little potential production to survive in today’s NFL given his hefty salary cap figure? With the advent of the hard salary cap in 1994, management became asked with finding as many versatile players as possible. While the salary cap era spawned a significant increase in dual punt and kick returners–their...

Panthers top Bears, 24-17, in sloppy preseason opener

Victimized by another pick-six by the Chicago defense Panthers quarterback Cam Newton can take solace in the fact he won’t have to face the Bears in the regular season.
