Dan Koppen returning to Patriots Good news from Adam Schefter today as Tom Brady’s long time center will be back in the mix for 2012. I’m not sure how it will play out between Koppen and his 2011 replacement Dan Connolly but really it doesn’t matter at this point. Injuries are a huge part of the game and you can never have too many good, experienced offensive lineman to protect your quarterback, especially ones with Koppen’s intelligence and experience. Another solid team-building move for New England.

Adam Schefter: Matt Kalil NOT a lock at #3 in the draft

Throughout the weeks leading up to the draft, a few things have been certain: Either Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III would be the first pick in the draft, and whoever was NOT the first pick out of the two would surely go second to the Redskins, and that Matt Kalil would go third to the Minnesota Vikings. Adam Schefter, though, is saying “not so fast” to the seemingly obvious...

Patriots Re-Sign Center Dan Koppen, keep Tom Brady’s Protection in Place

According to a Tweet from Adam Schefter, the Patriots have re-signed Center Dan Koppen: Tom Brady will be happy: Patriots are re-signing center Dan Koppen, per league source. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 13, 2012 Koppen missed last season with a fractured ankle that he suffered Week 1 against Miami. Allow Me to Prepare My Noose Right Now

Presented to you without any fakey, make-believey quote edits, for once, courtesy of Vikings Age and Adam Schefter, who definitely looks smarmy as a an over-sexed weasel, but also somehow reliably knows his **** and doesn't typically just blow people to work his lips, if you catch my meaning. If you don't, I'm trying to say he may have some truth behind this, which really...

Report: Mike Wallace Prepared To Not Sign His Tender & Sit Out Offseason Workouts

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Wednesday on NFL Live that Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace has no plans to sign his one-year, $2.742 million tender. Schefter added that Wallace plans to sit out all of the Steelers offseason workouts until the two sides reach a long-term contract agreement. The restricted free agent deadline of April 20 is now...

Report: Mike Wallace won’t show up for OTA’s

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via Evan Silva, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace doesn’t plan on signing his restricted free agent tender, so he won’t be attending OTA’s next week. “He is not going to sign that (RFA) tender, which means he is not going to be at OTA’s with the Steelers, said Schefter, per Silva. With clearly no teams interested in signing...

Report: HBO Offers Falcons This Season's 'Hard Knocks' Role

Everyone wanted to see the New York Jets featured once again this year on Hard Knocks. Apparently, HBO has different plans. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that HBO has offered the Atlanta Falcons the starring role for the wildly popular series which follows an NFL team throughout its training camp. That doesn't mean that the Falcons will accept, but it does give a pretty substantial...

Mike Wallace is refusing to sign his RFA Tender

Adam Schefter reported on NFL Live this afternoon that Mike Wallace will not be signing his RFA Tender.  Wallace will skip all of the offseason programs.  He plans to hold out until he gets a long term deal.  That is the only deal he plans on signing. Wallace had reported interest in getting a Larry Fitzgerald type deal.  Many thought that it was to see if he could get more then...

Saints, Drew Brees haven’t been talking lately

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New Orleans Saints and quarterback Drew Brees haven’t held any recent contract discussions, which will obviously keep him from joining his teammate for next week’s offseason work outs. The offseason work outs are “voluntary,” so Brees is really not holding out from anything.  The real test will be whether or not he shows up for mini...

Steelers Still Hold Wallace Leverage

Adam Schefter reported that Mike Wallace has no intentions to sign his restricted free agent tender; that was two days ago. Today the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is reporting that multiple teams are interested in trading for Wallace. This has lead to multiple thought processes on what the Steelers sho Continue

NE Patriots – one comes back, one takes his talents to South Beach

Looks like the Patriots are going to have to change their draft board and what holes they need to fill, as they now have some more depth on the offensive line, but lost some linebacker depth. The team reported Friday that it’s bringing back 9-year veteran Dan Koppen, signing him to a 2-year/$6 million contract. This move will create some competition with the recently re-signed...
