Pro Football Zone:
According to Field Yates of ESPNBoston.com, Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola looked pretty good the other day despite some rainy weather. “We got a lot of good work in,” he said. “A little wet at times, but a lot of good work. Everybody seemed really happy to be out here and it’s a good first day.” Though others endured some struggles in handling the football in the difficult conditions, Amendola was a bright spot on offense, making several impressive catches, including a diving grab toward the sidelines on a throw from Tom Brady. Amendola and Brady have developed a fast rapport, though he said it will take time to fully develop the comfort level he hopes to achieve within the offense. “It’s going to be a while,” he said. “We’re going to work out the kinks from here on out until the end of the season and try to improve every day and that’s just the way football goes.” I still really believe that Amendola is an upgrade over Wes Welker, if he can stay healthy and that’s a big if. As good as Welker is, he’s not as versatile as Amendola. You have to remember that Amendola was able to elevate his game against opposing defenses without having any great talent at receiver alongside him during his time in St. Louis. Need NFL Tickets? New Patriots receiver Danny Amendola knows what he’s getting into--WEEI:
Welker’s a great player. He’s done a lot of great things,” said Amendola. “I’m excited to get the opportunity to play here, and show my teammates and whoever [else] that I’ll try to be the best I can be.”
A look at Tom Brady and New England’s offense at Patriots training camp.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady limped off the practice field after appearing to hurt his left leg while throwing a pass.
Brady was not hit while throwing a fade to rookie Aaron Dobson that fell incomplete, but ended up on the ground holding his leg. He walked off gingerly but without assistance.
He was met by a member of the team's athletic training staff and walked to the...
The white numberless unrecognizable jerseys might as well have been a metaphor.
Tom Brady delivered passes to a relatively anonymous group of receivers throughout organized team activities and minicamp and Danny Amendola was the sole target who gained sustainable recognition amid the obscurity of seven dozen numberless jerseys.
Today when the Patriots take the practice field for...
BY NICK ST. DENISFour of Tom Brady's top-five receivers from last season are off the current roster, and the one who is still around -- Rob Gronkowski -- likely won't be catching passes until the beginning of the regular season. But if there's one quarterback who can adapt to a change of that magnitude, it's Brady."There’s quite a bit of turnover, like we all...

If any player on the Patriots could compare and contrast Danny Amendola and Wes Welker, it’s Daniel Fells. Fells didn’t exactly do that on Saturday.
The eighth-year tight end played with Amendola with the Rams in 2009 and 2010. He played with Welker in New England last season and now he’s back with Amendola. He was asked about the similarities between the two players.
Yesterday we heard from the Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on the Aaron Hernandez situation. It was the first time someone from the team, other than owner Robert Kraft, had spoken on the topic.
Today, the Patriots team captains are speaking. Tom Brady, Vince Wilfork and Devin McCourty all spoke to the media today. The only topic was Hernandez.
The captains echoed much of what...
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick suggested Friday before the Patriots opening practice of training camp that Tim Tebow could be used at other positions besides just quarterback. “I think that we’ll use Tim wherever we feel like he’s best for the team and I know that’s what he’s
FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots took a bunch of swings on young receivers this spring, hoping that one would pan out. If Saturday’s session at training camp is any indication, Aaron Dobson might be that guy.
Dobson worked with the first-team offense for the second straight day in an attempt to build a rapport with Tom Brady, and he seemed to do just that. Brady looked the rookie’s...
FOXBORO, Mass. — Let’s get one thing straight, Danny Amendola isn’t going to be Wes Welker. Although, the Patriots’ newest slot toy is using his predecessor as motivation to master the Patriots’ offense.
Amendola trotted out onto the practice field at Gillette Stadium in his fresh white No. 80 jersey on Friday for the very first time as a Patriot, and he looked comfortable...
