Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware told SiriusXM NFL Radio that Tony Romo deserves his new contract, but it’s time for him to back it up on the field. “I feel like you know everybody is deserving of whatever is given to them,” Ware said, per “But at the end of the day, to me, it’s put up or shut up. I’m just being straight up honest with you. Get out there and be productive, and that’s with any player. Whatever they get, they’re deserving of it. You just got to get out there and play, and I know he can be and will be the quarterback who will take us to the next level.” I thought Romo was supposed step up and lead the Cowboys to a championship years ago.  Odds are that he never leads the Cowboys to a Super Bowl.  They don’t have the leadership and he doesn’t have what it takes as a quarterback.   H/T Black Sports Online   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagNa
  • How can Tony "put up or shut up" when he is running for his life on every passing play? Yes he has made some bad throws but what qback doesn't? Difference is the boys don't have a shut down defense and are not good enough to overcome those mistakes.Give him a line that can run and pass block, then Tony has to put up or shut up.
  • Tony Romo will be another Danny White can never take us to a superbowl , JERRY JONES lives a fantasy thinking ROMO is the QB
he needs to wake up ROMO will never be a champion
  • Thank you. I thought I was the only one that remembers the Danny White years. Good enough to let you down. Nothing else. Soon as you believe, BAM!!! lets you down
  • He's been around for 10 years now and 7 as starter. He is not the only QB in league with problems. Joe montana didn't complain about the team in KC and got the most out of them. Romo is a choke artist. yes other people mess up but not for the game. He messes up when the game is on the line then throws everyone else under the bus and people are getting tired of it.
  • So we have a couple of guys here one who thinks he is the savior of our sins and the other who is the alter ego of the Incredible Hulk making judgements on Tony Romo. Do you have a clue about football?

Tony Romo is not perfect but he is the 5th highest rated quarterback in the league. He doesn't have an acceptable support staff. A line that doesn't block, receivers that either can't run routes or drop passes IN THE ENDZONE. Has he lost games? yes he has, but not nearly as often as his players around him have blown big plays and cost games. Let's not forget a defense that is a pourous as a collander.

So get over yourselves...go read a book of Football for Dummies and learn the game.
  • OH, Pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Aaron Rodgers was the most sacked QB for the past three years, running for his life and still managed to win a SB, SB MPV, league MPV and is the highest rated QB in history. And I don't have to mentioned that defense that keeps the other teams in game. Your logic is flawed. Rodgers, Brees, Payton, Brady and the other Manning have had the same situations at one time or another and all are SB MPV QBs.
  • Finally a real leader on my favorite team emerges. But Ware should've also remind Romo that FOOTBALL makes him & to leave his future prospects as a professional GOLFER on the bench. Tell Romo to get his OVERPAID a** in the film room or on the practice field with ALL of his receivers & linemen. Jones has a history of paying QBs much more than they deserve & before others who are more deserving (Emmit sat out 1st 2 games in 1994 before he was paid & Jones later gave Troy an even bigger contract days later). I pray that Jones drafts a quality QB next year(ala' Farve vs. Rodgers) & lets him sit under Romo for a couple of years just in case Romo fails to earn his paycheck.

During an interview with NBC’s Pro Football Talk, Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware insisted that they will be better than 8-8 after two straight seasons with that exact record. “We will not be .500,” Ware said, per  “We will not be .500 like the last two years we’ve been, I can tell you that.” After missing the playoffs the past three years...

DeMarcus Ware: It’s time for Tony Romo to ‘put up or shut up’

Tony Romo signed a massive contract extension worth $108 million with the Dallas Cowboys last week. Considering he has only one playoff win in seven seasons as a starting quarterback, many people (see: McNabb, Donovan) feel that Jerry Jones gave Romo way more money than he is worth. None of that matters when the Cowboys kick off their 2013 season, and linebacker DeMarcus Ware reminded...

DeMarcus Ware to Tony Romo: Put Up or Shut Up

When Tony Romo signed a huge contract extension last week (to the tune of six years and $108 Million, $55 Million guaranteed and a $25 Million signing bonus), everyone had their own opinion on whether he was deserving of such a big deal or not. The latest person to have his voice be heard is actually a teammate, and not a small-time player at that. On Sirius XM radio on Thursday...

DeMarcus Ware On Tony Romo: “It’s Put Up Or Shut Up”

Tony Romo just got paid recently and is the highest paid in franchise history.  The most consistent player on the Cowboys roster was on Sirius XM radio yesterday and said that “Romo deserves every dollar he gets paid.” DeMarcus Ware said some other things as well, and most importantly he feels according to ESPN Dallas, that “it’s time for Romo to put up or shut up.” “I...

DeMarcus Ware says it’s time for Tony Romo to “put up or shut up” after extension

Tweet Just a week ago, Tony Romo was given a six-year contract extension that could potentially be worth $108 million and promises him $55 million in guaranteed money. Donovan McNabb, a former Eagle and rival, was one of the first people to speak out on the issue, saying that he thought Romo hadn’t warranted being [...]

Phil Simms: Tony Romo deserved mega contract

Unsurprisingly, Tony Romo’s recent six-year, $108 million mega contract extension brought about familiar criticism. Romo became the richest player in Dallas’ illustrious history, but many fans and media types questioned if he was worth that kind of money. Phil Simms seems to think so. In an appearance on SiriusXM Radio Tuesday, the former Giants quarterback defended the current...

T.O. seen working out with Tom Brady at USC

If having Tony Romo as his quarterback was a strong enough relationship to once famously bring him to tears, then Terrell Owens' head just might explode if he ever got the chance to play with Tom Brady. And after pictures surfaced on Thursday of a practice session that Owens, Brady and new Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola at the USC practice facility, could a Brady-to-Owens...

Juice This: QB Contracts, Coming Out in the NFL, Tim Tebow

This week, Juice This looks at why Joe Flacco is overpaid (uh, no, we mean, why Aaron Rodgers is underpaid) and why Tony Romo owes me about half of that $130-plus million he just got. And if so many players are coming out about coming out, then why has the most-vocal of the coming-out voices, in essence, been silenced? Also, catching up with ZZZZ’s and the latest Tim Tebow controversy...
