PLAYERS: Ryan Clady
TEAMS: Denver Broncos

OT Ryan Clady This one is a no brainer. The Broncos don’t have any other options that make any sense and they won’t let their franchise left tackle hit the open market, even though, as I’ve explained before, he’s one of the most overrated players in the NFL. Still, those guys are available on the open market almost as rarely as franchise quarterbacks. Clady and the Broncos have tabled contract talks for now and since they were willing to offer him 5 years, 50 million (which he rejected), they’ll have no problem slapping the franchise tag on him (9.4 million in 2012). Peyton Manning shows promise, defense shows more in Broncos’ 31-3 rout of Bears

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning throws before the Broncos' 2012 preseason opener against the Chicago Bears. The Broncos routed the Bears 31-3 in Manning's Broncos debut. (Andrew Mason/MaxDenver.com) The hit everyone was waiting for never happened. Left tackle Ryan Clady would rather be penalized than see Peyton Manning get zinged during the Denver Broncos‘ first preseason...

Denver Broncos' quarterbacks battle for back up job

Peyton Manning's return to the field was the biggest news surrounding the Denver Broncos' 31-3 victory over the Chicago Bears in the teams preseason opener on Thursday night.  Manning played only one series, marching his team 50 yards in 11 plays before his pass was intercepted near the Bears goal line.   Manning finished the game 4-of-7 passing for 44 yards. The Broncos...

Broncos to play the Gotham Rogues in 2012?

No, the Denver Broncos are not going to play against a CFL or UFL team in 2012, as the title of this article may suggest.  Rather, they’ll open the season against the Gotham Rogues. That is, if you consider the Pittsburgh Steelers and Gotham Rogues one and the same, which they are. The Dark Knight Rises came out in late July and former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward has been...

Denver Broncos News: Elvis Dumervil Cleared of Charges, McGahee Gaining Weight and Other Stories

A bit of a busy Tuesday, as there are numerous Broncos news bytes to report on. The most important of them all is Elvis Dumervil. Dumervil has been cleared of all charges stemming from the gun incident in South Florida on July 14th. Although all charges have been dropped, commissioner Roger Goodell still has the power to suspend or punish Dumervil. Time will tell on whether or not...

Manning glad first game is out of the way

Baby steps, not giant leaps. That's how Peyton Manning is marking his comeback. So, he was glad to get his first game in 19 months out of the way and use it as a building block. Manning was uneven in Denver's exhibition opener at Chicago on Thursday night even though he didn't have to contend with Julius Peppers or Brian Urlacher and had plenty of time to throw. His...

Broncos’ Elvis Dumervil won’t be charged in road rage incident

AP Photo According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the Miami-Dade attorney’s office didn’t agree with the assault charges that were filed against Broncos linebacker Elvis Dumervil, so they decided to not charge him with crimes associated with the road rage incident he was involved in. “The state attorney’s office decided Tuesday to not formally charge Dumervil of any wrongdoing...

Drama comes full circle Broncos vs Bears

Tonight when the Denver Broncos play the Chicago Bears, the drama that started 3 years ago comes full circle. See for me, looking back to the start of the 2009 NFL season was a bad one. Bronco fans had just lost our future Hall of Fame coach and the new guy somehow chased our Pro-Bowl QB out of town. But little did we know how much drama would follow and where it would lead. First...

Saints hideous Nike collar omens Broncos look

(AP Photo) Football season officially kicked off Sunday night when the New Orleans Saints defeated the Arizona Cardinals 17-10 in the Hall of Fame Game on NFL Network.  The game started the league’s 2012 preseason and debuted Nike’s new uniforms. And New Orlean’s were awful. Saints players looked like they had black Count Dracula fangs coming out of their shoulders courtesy...
