In a bit of news that I stumbled across today during the first day that the Broncos have had off since beginning training camp, I found this one to be the most interesting – the Broncos' Wild Card victory back in January over the defending AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers had a higher rating and 1.7 million more viewers than the opening ceremony for the Olympics.

Why is this interesting on Broncos101.com? Well for one, other than the fact that there's finally nothing to report from Broncos training camp for one day about the Broncos limiting Peyton Manning's deep throws, or the fact that Brock Osweiler is improving at such a rate that observers are now saying he could serve as Manning's backup this season, it's interesting because it shows just how much of a football-crazed nation that we live in, and how much people are obsessed with Tim Tebow. Let's be honest here – people were not watching the Broncos' 32-29 overtime victory over the Steelers because it might have been Hines Ward's last game – it was all Tebow, and the fact that the game was probably the most exciting postseason game outside of maybe the Super Bowl.

Now who wants to guess the numbers of Peyton Manning's return game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 9th on Sunday Night Football?

2013 Denver Broncos cheerleader calendar photoshoot

Denver…the Sunshine state. Gorgeous! The Broncos cheerleaders recently left the thin air and headed to Cancun, Mexico for the ultimate spring break party calendar photoshoot. I didn’t know Denver did it like this. I just thought they were home of some fake “cold activation” nonsense on beer cans, Peyton Manning’s large head and (formerly) Dante Bichette. Nope, I was...

Demaryius Thomas and Peyton Manning shine with Eric Decker sidelined

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning at training camp practice August 2, 2012. (BroncoTalk.net photo) Peyton Manning to Eric Decker. Through the first several practices of Denver Broncos training camp, it was clear the two had a connection deeper and more natural than that of any other tandem on the field. Decker was Manning’s favorite target, and the quarterback and receiver...

Denver Broncos Training Camp 2012: Last chance for 2009 draftees Moreno, Ayers

As a friend recently reminded us on Twitter, in Broncos Country, Josh McDaniels‘ surname is a four-letter word. The sound “McDaniels” is fingernails on the chalkboard, a teeth-clinching, shoulder-buckling, neck-hairs-standing-on-end reminder of the worst two-year period in franchise history. Four digits that claw at the brain with nearly the same intensity are 2-0-0-9: McDaniels’...

Broncos reschedule practice Wednesday, now closed to the public

Denver Broncos defensive linemen participate in the team's 2012 training camp. (BroncoTalk.net photo) With nasty weather on the afternoon horizon and not enough security staff to handle a large crowd of fans before then, the Denver Broncos have cancelled this afternoon’s public practice. Instead they will hold a full workout that is open to the media from 10:35 a.m. to 1:15...

Denver Broncos: Jason Hunter Taking First Team Snaps Over Robert Ayers

Jason Hunter has apparently leaped over Robert Ayers on the depth chart. In the last two practices, Hunter has played on the first team base defense, while Ayers finds himself completely on the second team. Ayers previously lined up in one of the defensive tackle slots in the nickel and dime formations, but rookie draft pick Derek Wolfe has now taken over that role too. Ayers...

Peyton Manning says Demaryus Thomas can do things other player can’t

Getty Images Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning says that wide receiver Demaryus Thomas will be featured this season because of the things he can do that other players can’t. “He’s a guy we’re going to feature,” Manning said, per Ros Dumlao of the Denver Post. “His size and strength and speed just allow you to do certain things with him that other players just...

Video: Thunder roars over Fox’s injury report

You know that moment in horror movies, right before the serial killer strikes, or the masked culprit is revealed, and the scene lights up with a flash of lightning and a roar of thunder? John Fox‘s post-practice injury report today was sort of like that. (With three wide receivers and a running back added to the Broncos’ list of the walking wounded, it was an appropriate sound...

Ronnie Hillman Suffers Hamstring Injury

Denver running back Ronnie Hillman left Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury.Fantasy Spin:A rookie back has a hard enough time getting playing time from coach John Fox, so anything that robs him of reps hurts his chances to be the No.2 option in the Broncos' backfield. Willis McGahee isn't a young chicken and Knowshon Moreno has proven more bust than player, so...

Manning excited about Thomas' potential

Demaryius Thomas has only played in 21 regular-season games over two seasons, but it hasn't taken Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning long to see immense potential in the former first-round pick. Manning has played with a slew of receivers over the years, but he hasn't quite seen the combination of size and speed the 6-foot-3, 229-pound Thomas brings to the table. "...

Manning doesn't miss a beat with Decker down

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By ARNIE STAPLETON AP Pro Football Writer Even with Eric Decker down, Peyton Manning didn't miss a beat. Decker has been the star of the Denver Broncos' training camp so far, but when he went out with a strained groin, Demaryius Thomas stepped up to solidify his standing in Denver's refurbished offense. Thomas made...

Denver Broncos: It's time for some football

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you missed it, the NFL season officially started this past week with the beginning of training camps around the U.S. We have ceremoniously seen the final Sunday of the year without football. The offseason, although this one was rather exciting, has finally come to an end. Your painful web searches for news on your favorite teams and players have finally...

For Broncos, best training is across the line

The biggest benefit to training camp can often be working against teammates who are among the NFL's elite at their position. For the Denver Broncos, that works on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Peyton Manning's quick tempo and constant changes at the line of scrimmage forces the Broncos' defense to be on its toes and make the correct adjustments on the fly. ...

Denver Broncos QB Dilemma: Who Will Be The Odd Man Out?

Denver, CO. When the Denver Broncos selected QB Brock Osweiler with the 57th overall pick in the 2012 draft, it was obvious what their intentions were going to be for the 21 year old from Arizona State.
