DeSean Jackson bursts into the top 10 on the strength of two eye-opening performances to start the season. Brandon Flowers is looking like a gametime decision and if he can’t go Jackson will draw Sean Smith; who gave up 5 receptions on 6 targets against Dallas last week. Don’t sleep on Kaepernick coming off a tough week in Seattle. I won’t make any excuses for the game, but, I do expect the 49ers and their QB to bounce back at home. Matchups dictate value. It would be nice if Brady could get Gronkowski on the field but for the time being he’s a fringe QB starter, nothing more. Sam Bradford and Alex Smith get boosts in the QB ranks this week. Bradford based on his strong play this season and the fact hat Dallas has given up the 5th most points to opposing QBs. Sure, part of that was in a come from behind effort from Eli Manning, but, the secondary hasn’t quite adjusted to the new scheme yet. Alex Smith because we’re giving everyone a big boost against the Eagles until they convince us otherwise. Don’t think of Lynch’s #2 rank as an overreaction to the Monday Night spectacle of this past week, but more as an acknowledgement of the fact that the Seahawks like to run at home and they should get out ahead of the Jaguars comfortably, early. That leaves lots of opportunity for Lynch and Robert Turbin (37). Lots of uncertainty at the position but right now I like James Starks and Joique Bell to receive big workloads this week, hence their ranks. Giovani Bernard comes in ahead of BJGE and in start worthy territory in 12 team leagues. He’s still unlikely to see big volume, but, has been electric with his hands on the ball to date. Expect Green-Ellis to still see more touches but Bernard to get the scoring chances and a bigger share of the workload this week than he’s had to date. If you need a bye week plugin, that’s fine. But let’s not get overly excited about Chris Ogbonnaya… there’s not much to like in the Browns offense this week. Andre Johnson is looking like he’s ready to go this week and continue his normal workload – he leads the league in targets – but that doesn’t mean that DeAndre Hopkins hasn’t earned his share of looks as well. He ranks as a good start in 12 team leagues (with 3 WRs). Marlon Brown edges out Eddie Royal at 36/37. Both players have scored in both games but Brown seems like the more logical bet to keep it up. He’s been consistent catching 4 balls on 6 targets in each game. Rob Gronkowski snuck into the TE rankings this week, but we’ll have a better sense of his value come Sunday. Jordan Cameron hangs around the top 10 as Cleveland is going to have to pass to someone and Minnesota is giving up more than 320 YPG through two contests, but again, there isn’t much to like with Hoyer throwing the ball this week.
