The Lions are a precarious 3-4, trying to get back into the playoff race. This weekend they face a seemingly weak Jacksonville Jaguars, but don't let this game fool you. The Lions may have their hands full. The Jaguars are coming off of two straight tough losses. They were all over the Raiders two weeks ago before Blaine Gabbert left the game. Chad Henne was unable to preserve the Jaguars' lead in the second half, and the Jags lost their second overtime game of the year. Just a week ago, the Green Bay Packers had all they could handle as Blaine Gabbert threw the ball all over the field. Again, the Jaguars just lost a game in which no one thought they'd have a chance, and that Packers team is much better than the Lions. To top off the Lions' potential for a letdown, they'll be missing Louis Delmas on defense, leaving a weak secondary susceptible to even the worst quarterbacks in the league. Blaine Gabbert found plenty of openings last week, and there&#...

Jaguars blogger going out on a limb

This has been a rough season for Jaguars fans, and my predictions for this team's success have been next to useless. That being the case, I've seen a lot to like from Blaine Gabbert over the past couple of weeks, and the Jaguars are catching the Detroit Lions at the right time. Calvin Johnson, by far the Lions' biggest threat on offense, could be out against the Jaguars...

Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best has not been on the football field since nearly the mid-season mark of last season, and he will not play this season, after being ruled out by the Lions yesterday. Best has yet to find a doctor which will clear him to return to the playing field after suffering a concussion last season. However, Best claims he still wants to continue his career. Beat writer...

The Detroit Lions placed running back Jahvid Best on the physically unable to perform list Friday, ending his season, according to the team's website. Best had not been cleared to play by doctors this season because of past concussion issues. The team decided to shut him down after he recently took a battery of post-concussion tests. The Lions hoped Best could play this season...

Lions Injury Report: Calvin Johnson Game-Time Decision

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson missed practice all week due to a knee injury, and Megatron is considered a game-time decision against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Eric Edholm of Pro Football Weekly. Calvin Johnson thinks he’ll be playing with knee pain all season

Calvin Johnson turned in one of his best performances of the season as the Detroit Lions defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but it is a well-known fact that he did not feel his best. Johnson has been dealing with pain in his left knee that kept him out of practice all week. Unfortunately for Detroit, he feels it may limit him all season. “It’s probably something I...

NFL Rumors: Calvin Johnson May Play, But Should Fantasy Football Owners Bench Detroit Lions WR Today?

Both Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions expect that Megatron will suit up this afternoon against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but should that automatically mean that fantasy football owners should start him? Not only has he failed to come even close to replicating last season’s historical numbers, but his injury has limit his production yet again today. In fact, it may also limit...

Lions rout Jaguars 31-14 behind Leshoure's 3 TDs

Mikel Leshoure ran for three touchdowns, Calvin Johnson got involved early and the Detroit Lions turned in their most complete victory of the season, 31-14 over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Detroit dominated from start to finish, building a three-score lead before halftime and coasting after the break. It was a much different feeling for the Lions (4-4), who trailed in the...

Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 9 NFL Pick

Detroit Lions (3-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6) Nate Burleson getting hurt might have been the best thing that could possibly happen to the Lions’ offense. It forced the Lions to replace the mediocre Burleson, who was averaging 8.9 yards per catch and (5.6 yards per target), with explosive 2011 2nd round pick Titus Young and it’s also given 2nd round rookie Ryan Broyles more...

Lions rout Jaguars behind Leshoure's 3 TDs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Detroit Lions didn't need to rally in this one. Fantasy Football Week 9 Preview: Lions at Jaguars

Detroit: The Lions come off a surprisingly spry offensive show when they hosted the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8. That game coupled with the win over the Eagles the week before their bye may serve to springboard them into the playoff picture over the next few weeks.  Then again, a loss to the Jaguars this week would likely end any talk of possible playoffs as quickly as it started...

Good, Bad and Ugly: Lions 31, Jags 14

The Detroit Lions were able to scratch their way out of a 1-3 start and reach the .500 mark at the mid-way point of the season with a 31-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field. Lions' insider Mike Mady evaluates Detroit's win.
