The Jacksonville Jaguars are 1-6, in the cellar of the AFC South, and haven’t won a game at home yet this year. Looking at this matchup, it’s obviously a game that the Detroit Lions should win. The game will be played in Jacksonville, and airs at 1:05p.m. on Fox. In the NFL this season, with parity at an all-time high, if the Lions take that attitude into this game they will end up returning to Detroit with tails between their legs. Remember, the Jaguars gave the Packers a run for their money last week in a game that was 15-21 until Packers’ kicker Mason Crosby booted a late field goal to put the game out of reach. All of that said, this Jacksonville team has a plethora of weaknesses that the Lions can exploit. Offensively, the Jaguars rank dead-last in passing yards and 27th in rushing yards.  Quarterback Blaine Gabbert has struggled mightily, and the Lions’ coaching staff knows this.  Putting pressure on Gabbert will be the key in this one defensively.  Push around an already youn...

Lions look to get back to .500

The great debate in football this week hasnt been whether the Detroit Lions can beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. Its whether a powerhouse college team, No. 1 Alabama, can beat the lowly, 1-6 Jags. The consensus is that Bama wouldnt have a chance, but its a different story for the Lions, who are 4-point favorites for Sundays game at Jacksonville. Here are five storylines to follow...

Calvin Johnson Misses Another Practice On Friday

Anwar Richardson tweets that Lions WR Calvin Johnson missed another practice on Friday because of his sore knee. This is somewhat concerning considering that Johnson hasn’t practiced at all this week, but a number of beat writers have opined that Johnson will be available for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. At this point in time, it’s safe to suggest that Johnson is...

NFL Rumors: Mike Mularkey To Donate To Charity When Jacksonville Jaguars Act Like They Have Been There With Touchdowns

Mike Mularkey wants his Jacksonville Jaguars to act like they have been there before when it comes to scoring touchdowns this season. Unfortunately, for many of them, they have not. Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 9 NFL Pick

Detroit Lions (3-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6) Nate Burleson getting hurt might have been the best thing that could possibly happen to the Lions’ offense. It forced the Lions to replace the mediocre Burleson, who was averaging 8.9 yards per catch and (5.6 yards per target), with explosive 2011 2nd round pick Titus Young and it’s also given 2nd round rookie Ryan Broyles more...

Jaguars blogger going out on a limb

This has been a rough season for Jaguars fans, and my predictions for this team's success have been next to useless. That being the case, I've seen a lot to like from Blaine Gabbert over the past couple of weeks, and the Jaguars are catching the Detroit Lions at the right time. Calvin Johnson, by far the Lions' biggest threat on offense, could be out against the Jaguars...

Thomas out, Jaguars turn to Shorts, Blackmon

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The emergence of receiver Cecil Shorts III made it easy for the Jacksonville Jaguars to part ways with Mike Thomas. The Jaguars traded Thomas to the Detroit Lions on Tuesday, creating more opportunities for Shorts and rookies Justin Blackmon and Kevin Elliott. "We're going to give a couple of other guys some chances to work in there and hopefully...
