Found September 11, 2013 on Patriots Life:
LeGarrette Blount is a big dude. Standing at (a generous) 6-feet and weighing around 250 lbs, there is no doubt that this guy can truck over people. However, is this becoming a running gag for the Patriots? Here is what head coach Bill Belichick had to say on him: Gumbel: "Said he runs like a 225-pounder." Dierdorf: "I'm not sure that's a compliment." — Ben Volin (@BenVolin) September 10, 2013 Most NFL running backs are around the 210-230 lb range, but Blount trumps over that mark. Now, if you're like me, you might not necessarily understand how this quote from Belichick is an insult. Think about it though, a guy like Blount who is massive can't go out there and try to juke out people, make a spin move, or bounce a failed run play to the outside. A guy with Blount's stature and weight should be focused on pounding the ball down field, not using finesse. Was Belichick actually taking a shot at Blount? Unlikely. BB just saying what is on his ...

Should LeGarrette Blount be returning kicks?

The big boy LeGarrette Blount has been spotted getting multiple reps in the return game, especially during the preseason. With return specialist and Pro Bowler Leon Washington's status uncertain after being cut and then re-signed by the Patriots, it looks like Blount will be carrying the ball on kickoffs. With a 6-foot and 250 lb build, Blound hardly looks like a kick returner...

LeGarrette Blount not a great fantasy pickup despite Vereen injury

LeGarrette Blount was one of the hot names being thrown around in fantasy football discussions as soon as it was announced that Shane Vereen would be out until Week 11. Vereen replaced Stevan Ridley in the second quarter of the New England Patriots’ win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday after Ridley lost a fumble […]

Report: Bill Belichick’s Contract Won’t Expire After 2013 Season, He Will Be Coaching Patriots for ‘a Long Time’

Bill Belichick isn’t going anywhere, at least not anytime soon. Belichick, who has been head coach of the Patriots since 2000, renewed his contract in 2007, taking him through the 2013 season. That contract was set to expire after this season, but his future is no longer in question, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. From the sounds of it, the Patriots seem to have renewed...

Rex Ryan once told Jets he was going to punch Bill Belichick in the face

When Rex Ryan was first hired by the New York Jets, he started his tenure out with a bang by saying he did not come to the AFC East to kiss Bill Belichick’s rings. Since then, Ryan has been nothing but complimentary toward Belichick, often referring to him as one of the greatest coaches of […]

Tim Tebow Is Apparently Working Out At USC

Since Bill Belichick did us all a solid and mercifully cut Tim Tebow a few weeks ago, it seems as if #TebowTime is trying to make good on ‘remaining in relentless pursuit’ of his lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback. Pictured here with USC pitcher and fellow left-hander Sean Silva, Tebow is making the rounds through the Trojans athletics program, posing for photographs...

Ryan: I wanted to punch Belichick in the face

Tomlinson says Rex Ryan told them he was going to beat up Bill Belichick

Former NFL  running back LaDainian Tomlinson said that Jets head coach Rex Ryan would say some really crazy things to get his team fired up for a game. Tomlinson claims that Ryan told them one time that he was going to beat up Patriots head coach Bill Belichick before one of their games. “Rex got in front of us, he said, ‘I’m going to set the tempo today, guys,’ he said...

LaDainian Tomlinson: Rex Ryan Once Threatened To Punch Bill Belichick

Were there ever two more contrasting styles of coaching than Bill Belichick and Rex Ryan? It’s part of what made the Jets-Patriots matchups all the more interesting during the years of two straight AFC title games for Rex and the Jets (seems so long ago doesn’t it?). So to hear anything the coach might have […]

New England Patriots beat Buffalo Bills 23-20

A win is a win.  Sunday’s season opener wasn’t pretty, but when it counted the most the Patriots got it done.  New England certainly stumbled along the way, but they managed to make plays when they needed them the most.  The Patriots ultimately fought from behind in the fourth quarter to earn the victory in Buffalo 23-20.  Following the victory, here’s a breakdown of some...

Report: Shane Vereen out a few weeks after wrist surgery

After Stevan Ridley had trouble holding onto the ball Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, the New England Patriots turned to running back Shane Vereen for production on the ground. Unfortunately for the Patriots, Vereen, who rushed for 101 yards, broke a small bone in his his wrist on his first play of the game and is scheduled for surgery on Monday that will keep him out for a few...

Patriots Slop Their Way Past Jets: Five Things We Learned

We didn't get a lot of sound bites from either side leading up to this contest between division rivals, but we expect that from Bill Belichick. It seems almost surreal for Rex Ryan. The biggest questions coming in all surround the melding of unfamiliar players in the wake of injuries that have depleted both squads.I'd say those questions were answered, though not all in a...

Patriots Praise Stevan Ridley

Patriots coach Bill Belichick followed Tom Brady in giving Stevan Ridley a vote of confidence. "Stevan's a good player. I thought he ran hard. We have a long way to go. We're going to need him. I'm sure he'll contribute a lot for us this year." SOURCE: ESPNBoston.com.Fantasy Spin:Ridley was benched after fumbling in the second quarter Sunday against the...
