The Bills picked EJ Manuel in the first round for a reason. They saw his abilities when the media was only salivating over Geno Smith. Now it seems that the Bills may get what they want from Manuel in the upcoming season. Many people thought that Manuel was going to quietly ride the pine, while getting good veteran tips from Kevin Kolb. However, as NFL.com is reporting it may be Kolb who may need to take a page out of Manuel’s playbook.
Manuel has reportedly looked as the QB that Buffalo needs; confident and comfortable. On the other hand, Kolb has proven to be less than stellar; showing poor pocket presence and his accuracy hasn’t been up to par either. When speaking to GM Doug Whaley, you can tell that his mind is focused on Manuel and not Kolb:
“Most successful quarterbacks have that ‘it’ factor. (Manuel) has that ‘it’ factor. When he walks into a room, there’s a presence and people take notice. He’s going to be the face of our franchise, and it’s not too big for him.”
If this is the kind of glowing report coming straight from the GM’s mouth, I don’t expect to see Kevin Kolb on the field when the first game of the season starts. The Bills are EJ’s team, and there are clearly more than whispers about it. Doug Whaley himself is screaming that loud and clear.

We recently reported that Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb has been struggling in camp so far.
During an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s “Moving the Chains, Bills general manager Doug Whaley sounded like a man ready to have rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel start right away.
“Most successful quarterbacks have that ‘it’ factor. (Manuel) has that ‘it’ factor,” Whaley...

Buffalo Bills pass rusher Mario Williams has had a bad offseason. From trying to recover an engagement ring worth more than half a million dollars to poking fun at the Aaron Hernandez situation, Williams was just looking forward to the season. Via ProFootballTalk, Williams might be the center of an investigation of a police academy he graduated from in May of this year. The focus...
BAD NEWS BILLS

Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb has been escorted into the locker room after he slipped on a rubber mat and hurt his left knee during practice.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson suffered a hamstring strain on Friday, and could miss the majority of the preseason according to Pro Football Talk.
Per a league source, Johnson has definitely strained the muscle, and his specific timetable for a return currently is unclear. The assumption is that he’ll miss most of the preseason.
His absence will definitely stall his...
BY NICK ST. DENISJairus Byrd's job as one of the Buffalo Bills' starting safeties is safe -- if he ever decides to show up. But while Byrd is absent from training camp due to a contract dispute, other Bills defensive backs are taking advantage. There is a positional competition going on for the second starting safety spot, and with Byrd away, the players trying to earn that...
Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb is trying to bring his new team some stability at quarterback this season, but he can only do that if healthy. And if the Bills don’t start taking better care of their facilities, that may be a challenge. On Saturday, Kolb slipped on a wet rubber mat while running between [...]

The Buffalo Bills announced today that defensive end Mario Williams participated in defensive line drills.
This is great news since Williams has been sitting out with a foot injury. After getting a second opinion on his foot, he was told to rest it and he should be fine.
“We want to make sure that we’re being smart,” said Bills head coach Doug Marrone...

Kevin Kolb (knee) is day-to-day after slipping on a mat while switching practice fields, and its unclear whether it will affect his status for the Bills preseason opener on August 11th. It was a freak accident, but Buffalo does not believe the injury is serious. Still, its bad news for Kolb, who is locked into a battle for the starting job with rookie E.J. Manuel. After the veteran...
With the influx of youth at the wide receiver position since Stevie Johnson signed his contract extension a year ago the Buffalo Bills front office has followed through with a plan to hopefully take more advantage of his jukes and moves in the slot. The receiver has been lining up inside for much of training camp this year.
Let's rewind for a second. In December of 2012 former...
Johnathan Snyder of Queen City Sports has learned from sources close to Terrence McGee that the former Bills defensive back is expected to sign a one-year league minimum deal with the division rival, New England Patriots.
McGee played a total of just 22 games over the past three seasons with the Bills. During his career in Buffalo, he recorded 440 total tackles, 17 interceptions...
Now that the first week of camp is in the books, I am becoming more and more convinced that the Bills might have a chance to compete this year in the AFC East.
Doug Marrone and C.o are running a spirited and competitive camp, and, with the exception of Jairus Byrd not being at practice because of his contract squabble, things in Bills nation are pretty calm...
Last year: 6-10, last place in AFC East
Acquisitions: E.J. Manuel, Kevin Kolb, Manny Lawson, Robert Woods
Departures: Ryan Fitzpatrick, George Wilson, Nick Barnett, Andy Levitre
Vegas 2013 win total over/under: 6 1/2 wins
Five things the media can’t ask Doug Marrone about:
- Mario Williams’ injury.
- Any player injury.
- Weird Twitter.
- Who put the “bop” in...
