The Eagles have tried to use Chad Hall as a hybrid type of player in their offense. University of Florida running back Chris Rainey projects to have the same type of role in the NFL and the Eagles seem to think he could be an option for them, bringing Rainey in for a private workout. At 5-8 and 180 pounds, Rainey is by no means a big guy. Chad Hall actually has seven pounds on him as he’s listed on the Eagles official website (of course that may or may not be accurate). Despite his small stature, Rainey seems to be a very tough player. On film, you can see him really get beat up. However, he never seemed to miss a beat or slow down. Rainey has big play ability every time he touches the ball. He is shifty and has very good straight line speed, being clocked in the 4.3s in the 40-yard dash. One thing I tried to watch closely when looking at Rainey was how he ran between the tackles and I was actually impressed. His bread and butter is running off tackle, but he was successful ...
