Found October 02, 2013 on Eagles Eye:
This upcoming game at Met Life Stadium on Sunday is a litmus test of sorts for both the Eagles (1-3) under Chip Kelly and the Giants (0-4) under Tom Coughlin... The question to be decided for each team is this: "Are we innovating... or renovating...?" How we even got to this point as divisional rivals may be best ascribed to the lackluster mid-to-late-round drafts of both teams as you look over the generational results of their past four mid-to-late-round drafts. In my head, an NFL Draft generation is 4-5 years... (The London Fletcher's and the Ray Lewis's of the NFL are an obvious exception)... Yet it is apparent that both the Eagles and the Giants have come up short since 2009 in drafting enough impact players... or even in signing undrafted gems in the rough. So now together we reap what we have sown... My friends over at UltimateNYG.com are quite concerned about this upcoming game... They just got punked by Andy Reid's Chiefs, a 31-7 los...

Chip Kelly: Cedric Thornton Playing Best Defense For Philadelphia Eagles

Chip Kelly said defensive lineman Cedric Thornton is playing the best defense for the Eagles so far this season. Image Courtesy: Zimbio.com On a defense that is ranked 32nd in the National Football League, it's difficult to find silver linings.  However, the team's dismal performance through the first quarter of the season did not stop head coach Chip Kelly from pointing...

Chip Kelly's Sports Science Paying Dividends For Philadelphia Eagles

One of the elements Eagles head coach Chip Kelly focuses on most is sports science and so far it has paid off for his team.  Beyond the high octane offense the most discussed facet of Chip Kelly's hiring as Philadelphia Eagles head coach was the sports science aspects he was bringing to the NFL.  Through four games, it appears that the custom blended smoothies, sleep monitors...

Could Chip Kelly Be USC Bound?

With the Eagles struggling and USC's job open, one NFL analyst believes Chip Kelly could follow Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier and Bobby Petrino's road map back to college.  USC firing head coach Lane Kiffin over the weekend was one of the worst kept secrets in recent memory.  Kiffin had been on the hotseat for quite some time and it was little surprise to see the Trojans move...

It's Time For Chip Kelly To Consider Benching Michael Vick

Michael Vick has been inconsistent in the last three weeks and due to the overall struggles of the offense, it may be time for Chip Kelly to consider pulling the plug on the Michael Vick Experience.  Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and Michael Vick's teammates will sign a familiar chorus when asked about the team's offensive struggles...

The New York Giants are 30-6 under Tom Coughlin in October, Cheer Up

Everything you can think possible to go wrong has for the New York “FOOTBALL” Giants, but cheer up it gets better.  Your locker room is getting better, players are starting to get vocal, and become leaders ala Antrel Rolle, and your coach is a stud in the month of October. In his career as the […]

Tuck: I'll punch a teammate in the mouth if they turn on Tom Coughlin

(AP Photo/Bill Kostroun) The Giants are 0-4, and things are starting to look very bad for the outlook on the 2013 season. They haven’t been competitive one bit, an odd sighting from a football team coached by Tom Coughlin – one of the more old school, hard-nosed coaches in the game. Coughlin has a string of support, but it doesn’t take long to knock the wind out of the sails...

Chip Kelly gets first taste of Giants-Eagles

Chip Kelly Says He’s Not Interested In USC Job

USC can scratch Chip Kelly off their list for now. Kelly and Eagles brass wanted to dead any speculation of him leaving Philly after one season to try and resurrect a Trojans program that is spiraling after firing Lane Kiffin. According to Tim McManus of Birds 24/7, Kelly has made it clear that he’s not interested in the Southern Cal job. Kelly in USC speculation: "I'm...

Pam Oliver had a rough sideline report Sunday

At the beginning of the second half of Sunday's Broncos-Eagles game, Pam Oliver struggled mightily with her report after talking to John Fox and Chip Kelly.  After a few bobbles, she tapped out after about 30 seconds of the report and sent it back to the broadcast booth.  In fairness, Oliver has had a lot going on over the last few weeks.

Justin Tuck Means Business if You Doubt Coach Tom Coughlin

The New York Giants might be suffering a major blow this season as they’re a putrid 0-4 but defensive leader Justin Tuck is pissed off. Tuck doesn’t mind if you talk bad about anyone on the team but don’t put coach Tom Coughlin’s name in your mouth.Everyone is frustrated on the team and when your losing teammates start to point the finger, many times it’s the coach’s...

Victor Cruz Questions Coughlin’s Decision to Punt

metro.us After another horrible on field performance by both the offense and defense, tempers start to flare in the Giants locker room. New York Giants: 2013 Week 5 NFL Power Rankings (#21)

Last week: 18 (-3) Record: 0-4 Like with the Steelers, the Giants have not won a game and are ranked ahead of teams that have won games. Again, if you want teams sorted by record, go to ESPN.com’s NFL Standings (or their NFL Power Rankings because they’re pretty much the same thing). Any talk of firing Tom Coughlin (or Mike Tomlin for that matter) is absurd. If the Giants had...
