Eagles DC Vic Fangio receives brutal review from his former player
JEFF ROMANCE/THE PALM BEACH POST-USA TODAY NETWORK

Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland took a brutal shot at his former coach and current Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio.

"A complete 180," Holland said via NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe when asked what it's been like since Anthony Weaver replaced Fangio as Miami's defensive coordinator.

He didn't stop there as Holland "raved" about how well Weaver connects with his players

“Actually, ‘Weav’ is super dope, man," Holland continued. "Like as a person, as an ex-player, as a coach. You can just feel he understands where we’re coming from. He wants to hear us in our input on the defense and then is able to put that into how the defense is called and how the defense is taught. So now he’s great, man."

A reporter followed up Holland's answer with, "Do you think it’s the fact that he [Weaver] has been in your shoes that makes the difference?"

Weaver played seven seasons in the NFL as a defensive end.

"I just think that it’s the fact that he’s a good person makes a difference," Holland said.

Holland Joins Jalen Ramsey in the Not Missing Fangio Club

Holland isn't the only Dolphins player that doesn't miss Fangio.

After the Dolphins released cornerback Xavien Howard in February, Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey took to X/Twitter to express his thoughts.

Ramsey started the post with how he believes Howard is the greatest cornerback in Dolphins history and then took an obvious shot at Fangio, writing, "I won't ever forgive dude for not utilizing our full skillset!"

During his opening press conference, Fangio was asked about not getting along with some of his former Miami players and denied that narrative.

"I didn’t see that at all, really," Fangio said. "Anything we do, whether there, here, or anywhere else I’ve been, is what we think is the best for the team and best for the defense, specifically, to stop somebody. Wherever that falls, that’s where it falls."

These comments from Fangio's former players seem concerning since the Eagles need all of the help they can get on defense, including a coach that they enjoy and respect.

But so far, it appears Vangio hasn't brought the bad mojo to Philly.

In 2023, the Dolphins ranked 19th in DVOA.

With Fangio in charge, they finished 10th in yards allowed and 20th in points allowed. Miami also ranked third in the league in sacks (56) and tied for eighth in forced turnovers (27).

That's better than the Eagles who were 26th in yards and 30th in points allowed last fall.
