Found August 30, 2013 on Eagles Addict:
The Philadelphia Eagles have begun their final cuts by releasing 12 players and preserving seventh round DE Joe Kruger on injured reserve. Released players, courtesy of the Eagles’ press release: LB Everette Brown DT Antonio Dixon QB Dennis Dixon DE David King QB G.J. Kinne OL Matt Kopa CB Trevard Lindley (waived with injury settlement) WR Ifeanyi Momah WR Will Murphy OL Dallas Reynolds LB Adrian Robinson OL Matt Tennant Kruger gets stashed on IR, could be a factor in 2014. Associated Press photo Kruger, whom many thought may challenge for a roster spot, suddenly came down with a mysterious shoulder injury to land him on injured reserve. That’s a bummer about Momah, at the beginning of camp I had high hopes for him.  Hopefully he clears waivers and ends up on the practice squad. None of the other players comes as really a surprise.  However, they have to trim nine more players by 6:00pm EST on Saturday.  This is where the decisions get hard.

Eagles Roster Cuts: What do they mean?

Ever since the Eagles hired Chip Kelly back in January, there has been monumental change in the Eagles organization. Everything from the coaching staff, personnel staff, and training procedures have been turned upside down. This is Chip Kelly’s first year in the NFL, and it will be a learning process for him and the fans along the way. With a limited amount of people bing able...

Eagles 53-Man Roster Complete. Chip Kelly Makes Questionable Cuts, Nepotism Obvious

The Philadelphia Eagles did just what every other NFL team did today, trimmed their roster to the league maximum 53 players on the active roster. There was a great sense of anticipation over the past few weeks leading up to today as Eagles fans wanted to see what Chip […]The post Eagles 53-Man Roster Complete. Eagles release former 2011 first-round pick Danny Watkins

The time has come for guard Danny Watkins to move on, and he may be looking at the end of the line in his NFL career. Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles decided to part ways with the 28-year-old, who took up football at the late age of 22 and ended up a formidable player at both Butte College and Baylor.

Eagles release OT Michael Bamiro

Today, the Philadelphia Eagles released Stony Brook OT Michael Bamiro. Bamiro had a strange path to the draft as he didn’t know he was eligible to enter the draft because he was waiting on a 5th year. Bamiro could land on the Eagles PS. There is a very good chance he makes the ps if […]

Eagles’ James Casey exits with hamstring injury

Philadelphia Eagles tight end James Casey exited last night’s preseason finale against the New York Jets after suffering a hamstring injury, according to Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Casey sustained the injury during the first quarter of the game, after which he didn’t return. It concluded a disappointing preseason for Casey, who has battled injuries throughout...

Eagles Security Guards Stretch, Take Field to Practice Tackling Streakers and Other On-Field Intruders (Video)

While it would make sense to mock an NFL team for doing this, it is Philadelphia, so maybe this is just good form. The security guards for the Philadelphia Eagles took the field this week to practice tackling fans and other intruders who may run amuck during games, according to Jordan Raanan of While the living proof is just a far-off video of some people hustling around...

Eagles Waive Former Steelers LB Adrian Robinson

Last Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded outside linebacker Adrian Robinson to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for running back Felix Jones. Now, just one week later, Robinson has been released by the Eagles. Robinson is out of practice squad eligibility so he very well might have a hard time latching on with another team if [...] Eagles Waive Former Steelers LB Adrian Robinson...

Eagles Preseason Game 3: Two Observations

Eagles make difficult cuts as roster takes shape

So much for Dennis Dixon having a leg up because he knows Chip Kelly's offense. Dixon was one of 12 players cut by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday as they moved closer to the 53-player roster limit. He had a standout career at Oregon when Kelly was the Ducks' offensive coordinator there, and signed with the Eagles in February, not long after Kelly took the job. But Dixon...

Know Your Enemy: Philadelphia Eagles

Fly, Philadelphia Eagles, Fly After a disappointing 4-12 campaign, longtime head coach Andy Reid was shown the door. In walked Chip Kelly, lately of Oregon, with his up-tempo offense. In concert with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who comes to Philadelphia from the Cleveland Browns, Kelly looks to resurrect an offense that scored only 17.5 points per game […]The post Know...

Gameday! Eagles at Jets

With the regular season only a week away, the Eagles find themselves in their final preseason game of 2013 as they travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets. At this point, it may sound cliche to say this as I have said this in each preseason game I have previewed, but this is yet ANOTHER important game for the Eagles. However, each game has been important for different...

Predicting the 53

By 6 PM Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles will have reached their league mandated 53 man roster. This is not to say that the roster will be finalized. The Eagles are a team the boasts depth along the offensive and defensive lines, but lacks depth in the secondary. Therefore, expect the Birds to continue to make roster moves as the players being released from other teams look for...
