[caption id="attachment_50" align="alignleft" width="300"] Eagles coach Chip Kelly(left) and the NFL's rushing leader Lesean McCoy(right) look to snap a two game losing streak Sunday at Denver[/caption] By: Adam Dandrea This weeks game against the Denver Broncos means a whole lot more than you think. For this Eagles team, this game against the Broncos could easily make or break our season. How does that make sense? It's only week 4 right? It's way to early to make a statement like that right? Wrong. First thing you have to look at to understand what I'm talking about is the Eagles schedule. After the game at Denver this Sunday, the Eagles stay on the road for two more against the Giants, who are bound to wake up eventually and the Buccaneers who still have a defense with some real talent. Both games are a far cry from easy wins. Then after that it's home against the NFC east leading Cowboys and still at home against the Giants. Considering where the Eagles are at as a team(2 game losing streak) this is easily the most important stretch of the season. If the Eagles continue to turn the ball over at an alarming rate and have a secondary that couldn't even stop a car at a red light, this team can easily be 1-7 or 2-6. Which would essentially rule out any chance of the playoffs. [caption id="attachment_53" align="alignright" width="300"] Desean Jackson(left) and Mike Vick(right) have to get the eagles offense back on track[/caption] It all starts this Sunday at Denver. Now if they win that game, there would be no denying he momentum that this team would have. Every game after that would be like running down hill as opposed to if they lose on Sunday it would be like they're fighting to go up hill week in and week out. Simply stated, head coach Chip Kelly needs to add something new to the offense this week. I'm not saying they're running dry but it would be a good time to add a new page to this offense. After watching the film, the Eagles spend a majority of their time in 11 personnel(3 WR and 1 TE). This is putting more pressure on the WR at the line to try and get open and that was an obvious problem against the Chiefs last Thursday. The positives are that it spreads the field out but besides Desean Jackson the WR's are a weak point of this team. Why would we keep featuring them more than let's say our tight ends? We have 3 tight ends on this roster that can cause matchup problems and make plays. Brent Celek is playing well so far and deserves more touches, Zach Ertz, a second round pick this year, has showed flashes of why the Eagles picked him and try not to forget about off season signing James Casey. When he signed for 3 yrs and 14.6 million he was expected to be a part of this offense and so far has been a primary special teamer. Chip Kelly isn't an idiot, he's a realist. I have complete faith in him and his coaching staff to make adjustments and I believe it should start this week in Denver. Expect to see some more 22 personnel(2 WR and 2 TE) and even 23 personnel(0 WR and 3 TE). The Eagles need to steal a win this Sunday and if they do, the rest of the league better watch out.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Broncos preview

After two straight losses, the Eagles are attempting to bounce back as they prepare to take on the undefeated Denver Broncos. The Broncos are making a strong statement early in the season to be the best team in the entire NFL.  Peyton Manning is off to one of the best starts of any season for a quarterback, as he has already thrown 12 touchdowns and for over 1,000 yards. While the...

Faster doesn't mean more for Eagles

The purpose of Chip Kelly's fast-paced offense is to run as many plays as possible in the shortest amount of time to maximize scoring potential. It worked for two quarters. Since cramming 53 plays into the first half of their season opener, the Philadelphia Eagles have run 145 plays in the last 10 quarters. Not coincidentally, they beat Washington 33-27 in Week 1 and lost the...

Chip Kelly to Peyton Manning: ‘We’ll Go Play In A Parking Lot’

Chip Kelly wants Peyton Manning to know that regardless of how much rest the Broncos and Eagles have gotten, the two teams can get it on anywhere. After Monday nights victory over the Raiders, Manning called out the NFL for what he perceived as preferential scheduling for the Eagles. “We’re coming off of a short week — it’s nice of the NFL to give Philly 12 days and give...

The Philadelphia Eagles unveil a team wine, a 2011 cabernet sauvignon (photo)

Cheer up, Philadelphia Eagles fans. With a 1-2 record, things may not be going as well as hoped, but there’s plenty of time for new head coach Chip Kelly the right the ship offensively. And as far as the abysmal defense the Eagles have played thus far this season, currently ranked 30th in the league? Kelly’s Start & Sit: Week 4

Courtesy of Looking back on the first couple weeks of the season, I notice a couple of things: First being that the Denver backfield committee is completely unpredictable. Last Monday night, Denver’s trio of backs had just about an equal timeshare with Ronnie Hillman making the most of it with 66 yards and a touchdown off nine carries. After the Bronco’s committee...

Injury Update

By: Adam Dandrea Eagles starting safety Patrick Chung again didn't practice on Thursday. Head coach Chip Kelly had this to say about Chung's status, “I don’t know if he’ll go full, but he’ll be with the strength coaches today,” Kelly said. “We’ve got three more days Thursday, Friday and Saturday but he’s not full for practice today. (Last week) we thought...

Can the Philadelphia Eagles keep up with the Denver Broncos?

Can the Eagles D stop Peyton Manning from inflicting too much damage? The Philadelphia Eagles are in Denver to face the Broncos, and it is one of the most challenging games on their schedule. Denver’s #1 ranked offense faces Philly’s #2 offense. Both teams can be fast and explosive, but will Chip Kelly even want his team to work quickly, only to hand over the ball to Peyton Manning...

Faulty Friday Photoshop: Going to Aspin

How did Wes Welker and Peyton Manning know that Chip Kelly had gas? The Eagles are getting crushed this week aren’t they? Yeah, they’re probably getting crushed. Best of luck bird gang, prove me wrong! The post Faulty Friday Photoshop: Going to Aspin appeared first on Eagles Faithful.

Philadelphia Eagles: 2013 Week 4 NFL Power Rankings (#23)

Last week: 20 (-3) With the exception of the first half against the Redskins, one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Eagles’ have really not played that well this season. I still believe in Chip Kelly as an NFL coach, but there’s only so much he can do given how bad their defense is and how flawed Michael Vick is as a quarterback. They aren’t moving the ball as well as they...
