Back in September, Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris declared that he felt Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson was "definitely the best player in football, without a doubt."
After Robinson produced a superstar performance in Monday night's 24-14 win over the Buffalo Bills that improved the Falcons to 3-2 on the season, Morris repeated his take.
"He's the best player in football," Morris said about Robinson, per Marc Raimondi of ESPN. "I've said it multiple times. I can't say it enough. You can always have your pick. You can always go out there and figure out who you want to vote for, but in my opinion, he's the best player in football."
At the very least, Robinson looked like the league's top offensive weapon as he torched the Buffalo defense at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, and he also contributed 68 yards on six receptions. His top highlight-reel moment of the evening came when he took a handoff 81 yards to the house for a score in the game's second quarter:

"It always feels like he’s going to break one of those every time he touches the ball," Morris said about that play, according to Josh Kendall of The Athletic. "We’ve been waiting on that."
The StatMuse website shows that Robinson ended Week 6 leading the league with 822 total yards from scrimmage. Kendall noted that Robinson is the first player to tally more than 450 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards in his first five games of a season since Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas accomplished the feat when he earned Most Valuable Player Award honors for the 1991 campaign.
Additionally, Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk mentioned that Robinson is on pace to break the record of 2,509 yards from scrimmage set by then-Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson in 2009. Following Monday's win, Robinson shared why he won't let such numbers get to his head this fall.
"I don’t want to be the guy who is saying, 'I can’t be stopped.' That’s not who I am," Robinson explained. "I have to continue getting better every single day, every single game. When you start thinking you can’t be stopped, that’s when you start playing bad and not giving full effort for your team, and you don’t even know it."
Robinson and the Falcons will next play at the San Francisco 49ers (4-2) this coming Sunday night. The 49ers were already without star pass-rusher Nick Bosa (season-ending ACL tear) before linebacker Fred Warner went down with a dislocated and broken ankle this past Sunday. As of Tuesday morning, ESPN BET had the Falcons as 2.5-point road underdogs against the 49ers.
