Oakland Raiders @ Denver Broncos

Oakland Raiders: Another game that likely cost more than a few survivor pool players, as the Raiders were able to come back at home and take a game from the Steelers.

Pittsburgh looked like they had the game well in hand.

But then Carson Palmer stormed back, throwing for three touchdowns and showing that he’s a viable starter if you’ve been forced into a platoon situation at quarterback.

Darren McFadden’s day was buoyed by a 64-yard TD run early in the first quarter, but it sure looks like he finally got over the hump in the new Oakland zone blocking scheme.

While the Steelers' defense hasn’t looked great this year, they’re still good against the run and McFadden was still able to rip off at least one huge run. Run DMC is a pretty good play this week against the Broncos.

While Palmer has looked good so far this season, you have to wonder if the attrition in his receiving corps will catch up to him. Darrius Heyward-Bey took a nasty hit for a concussion last week, and even Brandon Myers is dinged up and will likely be iffy to play at best.

Now it’s Denarius Moore and a bunch of unknowns. Moore is a decent start this week, but you should probably stay away from any other Raiders’ pass catchers.

Good Start: QB Carson Palmer, RB Darren McFadden

Middle of the Road: WR Denarius Moore

Bad Start: WR Rod Streater, TE Brandon Myers

Denver Broncos:  The Texans gave the Broncos fits most of the day, but Peyton Manning started to find his stride against that tough defense in the second half, and nearly led a comeback that just ran out of time. This week, Manning faces a much softer secondary and defense overall. For that reason alone, Manning gets an upgrade to being a good start.

Willis McGahee is banged up, but did practice this week and looks like a good bet to be on the field. The Raiders aren’t that good against the rush either, so McGahee will likely be able to take advantage, especially in front of the friendly home crowd.

If Manning is a good start, then his favorite receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker should benefit. Lately even Brandon Stokley has been viable for consideration, but that seems to have come at the expense of Justin Tamme, who just hasn’t been a big part of the plans as of yet.

Good Start: QB Peyton Manning, RB Willis McGahee, WR Demaryius Thomas, WR Eric Decker

Middle of the Road: WR Brandon Stokley

Bad Start: TE Jacob Tamme
