Although former New York Giants linebacker Dhani Jones no longer suits up on Sunday, it doesn't mean he's planning on fading into oblivion. This summer, Dhani embarked on an epic road trip with Men's Journal and Porsche. He traveled from New York all the way to Alabama. In between, he took part in several unique local experiences including building a bespoke bicycle in Brooklyn, to fly-fishing in North Carolina. Men's Journal chronicled all of Dhani's experiences, and transformed them to seven webisodes. The second video will be released on Thursday.
In the first webisode, Dhani learns how to build bikes out of the famous 718 Cyclery. He gets down and dirty while attempting to build custom bike with store owner Joe Nocella.
Dhani Jones was drafted by the Giants with the team's sixth-round pick of the 2000 NFL draft. Jones did not see playing time until 2001, where he started all 16 games for Big Blue. He wen on to have two more productive season in a Giants uniform, before he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2004 season. After three productive years playing against the Giants for Philadelphia, Jones signed with Cincinnati, where he remained until his retirement after the 2010 season.
Shortly after he left football, Dhani Jones began his work with the Travel Channel. He received his own show titled "Dhani Tackles the World" almost right off the bat. Ever since then, he has been working hard to improve his on air personality.
Although Dhani Jones is an afterthought in the minds of almost every Giants fan, its great to hear that he has found a passion for television. Furthermore, we are being enabled to see a side of Dhani Jones that we otherwise may never have experienced. We always knew him as a standout linebacker. However, now we know him as a television star as well. Make sure to check out Dhani's new websidoes with Men's Journal.
