Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher is moving on up to a deluxe condo on the east side. The New York Observer reports Wednesday that Cowher paid $2.65 million for a 1,500 square foot, two bedroom, condo in Manhattan's Upper East Side recently, that overlooks portions of Central Park. While most everyone will try to speculate that this means Cowher is setting himself up to be the new head coach of either the New York Giants or New York Jets, the reality is that Cowher, who does the pregame show for CBS, is just getting closer to the studios in New York. Cowher still has his Read more [...]

Still battles to be fought in final Steelers preseason game – Offense

Among all the hoopla of Mike Wallace returning to the Steelers this week, there’s still a big game for a lot of players coming up on Thursday night. Wallace won’t be playing in it but there are still battles to be fought, and roster spots to be filled. This game is just as important as the 3rd preseason game was, only for different reasons of course. Positions can be won and...

Important Week Of Practice Upcoming For James Harrison

The Pittsburgh Steelers activated linebacker James Harrison from the PUP list on Tuesday and all signs point to him being able to start practicing as soon as Monday. It is unknown how much work that the veteran linebacker will do initially, but his left knee will be monitored closely for any swelling as the week progresses. As Gerry Dulac points out today via Twitter, should Harrison’s...

2012 NFL Preview: AFC North

With just a couple short weeks until the opening kickoff of the 2012 NFL season, it’s finally time to make my official predictions, knowing full well they will be shot to pieces faster than Carson Palmer can throw 10 INT’s. Still, gotta fill the time somehow, right? In case you missed them, here are the divisions we’ve already previewed: AFC WestNFC WestAFC SouthNFC South...

Steelers Rookie LB Sean Spence In Hospital With Significant Knee Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said in his post game press conference following their 17-16 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers that rookie linebacker Sean Spence is currently in the hospital after suffering what he called a "significant" knee injury. Spence injured the left knee late in the 3rd quarter while chasing Panthers quarterback Jimmy Clausen...

Report: James Harrison & Jason Worilds Will Be Ready To Play Against Denver

It is hard to find some sort of silver lining following the Pittsburgh Steelers 17-16 preseason win Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers as the game was marred by the potential season ending left knee injury by rookie inside linebacker Sean Spence late in the third quarter. The only real positive news after the game was reported by Mike Prisuta of DVE Radio, who said via...

Chris Rainey Answered The Mike Tomlin Challenge Against The Panthers

Thursday night in the Pittsburgh Steelers 17-16 preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers it was the Chris Rainey show. Well, almost. The Steelers rookie sixth round draft pick out of Florida had touchdown punt returns of 78 and 90 yards nullified by penalties, but it didn't take away from the nice cuts that Rainey had in the process. Several Panthers players that looked...

Steelers hopeful David DeCastro will return this season

Getty Even though Pittsburgh Steelers rookie guard David DeCastro suffered a serious knee injury, he won’t be placed on season ending injured reserve, in hopes that he’ll be able to return at some point this season. “Barring any unforeseen complications from knee surgery scheduled for Wednesday, David DeCastro will not be placed on injured reserve as the Steelers are holding...

DeCastro injury not as severe as first feared

The Steelers don't believe rookie first-round pick David DeCastro's right knee injury was as severe as initially feared. DeCastro is scheduled for surgery Wednesday to repair a torn medial collateral ligament. Coach Mike Tomlin said he and the Steelers are not discussing detailed plans for DeCastro's roster spot until the surgery is complete. All signs point to the...

Who Will be on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 53-Man Roster

The Pittsburgh Steelers cut down to 75 players today, cutting a bunch of guys no one has ever heard of.  Well, a lot of people have heard of S Myron Rolle, although that’s far more for him being a Rhodes Scholar than a good football player.  The Steelers also jettisoned LB Mortty Ivy, who played on last year’s team, due to a hamstring injury, and K Danny Hrapmann, who many...
