Found January 01, 2012 on Bucs Beat:
Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris already is on the ropes after nine straight losses and now this: former Titans coach Jeff Fisher was spotted at the Buccaneers team hotel in Atlanta Saturday. Fisher is believed to top the Bucs' wish list should they decide to dismiss Morris after today's season finale against the Atlanta Falcons in the Georgia Dome. Call it a coincidence of convenience. It turns out Fisher's son, Trent, is a walk-on safety for Auburn, which defeated Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl Saturday night.  It wouldn't be hard for the Bucs' to anticipate Fisher's whereabouts. With former Steelers coach Bill Cowher all but ruling out a return to the sidelines in 2012, Fisher is considered the prime candidate for nearly every anticipated head coaching vacancy, including San Diego, Jacksonville, Kansas City and Miami. If the Bucs have any designs on hiring Fisher, his arrival in Atlanta to watch his son play in the Chick-fil-A Bowl would not be a surprise. ...

Bucs fire Morris, but GM Dominik spared

TAMPA Raheem Morris never made it to the podium for his season-ending press conference Monday at One Buc Place. Less than an hour earlier, the club issued a short statement that Morris was out as Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach and that his entire staff was gone, too the conclusion to a collapse of seismic proportions. In the end, Morris got the blame for a campaign that crumbled...

Jeff Fisher ‘all but certain’ to coach Rams

In a day filled with the removal of several head coaches and front office types, it’s no surprise that Jeff Fisher has emerged as the hottest commodity on the coaching circuit. Not Jon Gruden, who’s contractually committed to ESPN and his peers on Monday Night Football. Not Bill Cowher, who’s apparently content with his cushy studio gig at CBS. Not even Brian Billick, who already...

Besides Raheem Morris, who else is going to be in their last game as a Buc?

Sources all say the Glazers are going to do something they don't want to do, but realize they must; they are going to fire Raheem Morris as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Glazers like Morris, heck, I like Morris. The Press like him too, but he has lost this team, and that means he cannot come back as head coach. Its not all his fault, in fact he's probably no...

Jeff Fisher will interview in St. Louis

The first NBCSportsTalk on the newly christened NBC Sports Network had a juicy nugget in the first five minutes. Peter King reported that Jeff Fisher will interview for the Rams head coaching job this week. It’s believed that Fisher wants to go to a place with a quarterback in place. St. Louis certainly qualifies. Fisher…

Fred Taylor: Fisher would be good fit to coach Jaguars

Fred Taylor wants what's best for the Jacksonville Jaguars - and he believes that Jeff Fisher would be a great fit as the team's next coach. As the team continues to look for a coach to replace the fired Jack Del Rio, Taylor made his pitch for the former Tennessee Titans coach. "He’s going to be super-motivated to go and kick Tennessee’s (expletive) each time they...

Bucs' Glazer: We'll spend whatever it takes to win

Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer said the entire organization is responsible for the 4-12 season and vowed to spend 'whatever it takes to win.' During a news conference Monday to discuss the firing of coach Raheem Morris, Glazer said the Bucs ownership and front office shared in the failures that led to a 10-game losing streak to end the 2011 season. He also responded to...

Raheem Morris out in Tampa

Last year, the Buccaneers won 10 games.  This year, they finished with 10 straight losses. And so Raheem Morris, as widely expected, has lost his job. The Buccaneers have announced that Morris has been fired.  He had one year left on his contract. To no surprise, Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the rest of…
