As Dolphins fans patiently wait (yeah right) for the free agency signing period to begin on Tuesday, we can expect to hear a lot of rumors and speculation.  Alex Marvez of  just tweeted a new story regarding the Dolphins and their pursuit of the top free agent wide receiver on the market, Mike Wallace.  Marvez’s source said that the Dolphins are the ‘lead dog’ in the Wallace chase.  Marvez’s source also said that Wallace ‘prefers warm weather’. Photo Courtesy of Jeffrey Beal via Wikipedia I know what you’re saying: “we’ve heard this before”.  I thought the same thing and apparently others did too.  Shortly after posting his story, Marvez was asked how this is different than Peyton Manning, when everyone said the Dolphins were the front runners.  He replied that he never reported the Dolphins were the front runners for Manning and that his source’s claim that the Dolphins are the lead dog are ‘legit’. If I wanted to be a pessimist, I could speculate that the ‘source’ Marvez is talking to is Wallace’s agent.  If so, it would benefit him to make it seem like the Dolphins are the front runner, considering everyone knows that they want to spend big on Wallace.  I HOPE the Dolphins are not being used to drive up the price for another team to swoop in and sign him. If  what Marvez says is true, the other teams that are bidding on Wallace may be at a disadvantage.  Other teams rumored to be interested in Wallace include the Patriots, Browns, Bengals, and Vikings, just to name a few.  What do the Dolphins have that none of those teams can offer?  First, the Dolphins can offer warm weather.  Second, the Dolphins offer, however big it might end up being, will not have a state income tax associated with it.  That’s something to keep in mind when calculating how much the deal will be worth to Wallace. Reports have been surfacing all offseason that Wallace is the Dolphins #1 priority this offseason.  If they swing and miss on a top flight free agent again, the fan base will probably grow more angry or even apathetic.  However, if Jeff Ireland and crew were somehow able to reel in the #1 WR on the market, he might begin to win back the hearts of the Dolphins faithful. The free agency signing period starts on Tuesday at 4pm EST.  Be sure to check back for updates, as they will be posted as soon as more information is available. Dolphins Will Not Re-Sign Reggie Bush, Multiple Teams Interested in His Services

Bush is the perfect running back for a lot of the pass happy teams in the NFL. Falcons, Packers, Lions, Colts and etc, should have a lot of interest in him. I believe the Dolphins are making a mistake in letting him go. The #Dolphins will not be re-signing RB Reggie Bush, about 8 teams are interested in him, including #Lions. — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_RealUpdates) March 9, 2013
