Wide receiver Pierre Garcon said Monday that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is “obviously” not completely healthy and is “a lot different” as a player than he was last season as a rookie. For a second straight week Garcon spoke candidly about Griffin’s play as the quarterback returns from knee surgery in January. “He’s not fully healthy obviously” Garcon said at Redskins Park. “He’s running a little bit more. But last year’s RGIII was a lot different from this year’s RG because of his knee. It’s not surprising. We’ve been talking about it the whole offseason. It’s the same question every day on Monday. We can find something else to talk about.” Garcon’s latest comments about Griffin’s play came a day after the Redskins’ record dropped to 0-3 with Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions at FedEx Field. The Redskins used Griffin a bit more often as a runner against the Lions. He rushed for 37 yards on six carries Sunday. He also threw for 326 yards on 3

Ex-Redskins Fred Smoot Calls RG3 a Brat & Mike Shanahan “The Red Lobster”

Fred Smoot is never at a lost for words, so when he went on with Holden and Danny of 106.7 The Fan in DC, he didn’t hold his tongue on RG3 and Mike Shanahan. “The Red Lobster and RGIII, they’re not compatible right now,” Smoot said, pretty much ensuring that nickname will stick. “And right now, you can’t have one without the other. Fred Smoot Blasts the Red Lobster and the Brat (aka Mike Shanahan and Robert Griffin III)

The season is not going according to plan for the Washington Redskins. After a 0-3 start the boo-birds and haters are coming out of the woodwork faster than politicians when a lobbyist  is  offering  free dinner. One of the latest to join in on the hate parade was former defensive back Fred Smoot. And he got a little creative. While making a recent radio appearance...

Rebranding would cost the Redskins $15 million

According to Michael McCarthy of Advertising Age,  it would cost the Washington Redskins $15 million to change their name and rebrand themselves. While $15 million is a lot of money.  Redskins owner Dan Snyder would likely  make that money back and then some if he did change the logo and name of his franchise. One of the biggest things likely holding Snyder back is the fact that...

RG3 reportedly wanted to get away from running the read-option

During today’s show on ESPN’s First Take,  analyst Skip Bayless mentioned that a Redskins insider claims that Robert Griffin III told the coaching staff that he wants to get away from read-option this season because he believes he can be as good of a pass as  Peyton Manning. It certainly looks like the Skins have abandoned the read-option for the most part.  If Griffin did...

Smoot – RGIII is a brat & Shanahan is a red lobster

It’s been one of hell of a day with former NFL players bashing their former teams. First you had Carl Banks ripping the New York Giants a new one for not having any pride. Now you’ve got Fred Smoot calling out Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan and star quarterback Robert Griffin III. Smoot was on 106.7 the Fan in D.C. today and just went absolutely off, the quotes...

DeAngelo Hall Did A Good Thing?

DeAngelo Hall is responsible for covering Calvin Johnson today. That’s a recipe for utmost disaster for the Redskins, but it’s a wonder how Matt Stafford overthrowing his receivers will make a subpar cornerback look good. DeAngelo returned this one for a touchdown, but in all likelihood, he’ll negate it with four mindless penalties before the day is over.

Lions RB trucks four Redskins defenders

H/T: TheBigLead   Trucked, plowed, ran over. You name it. He did it. Between...

Dick Stockton refers to RG3 as “Robert Griffin Jr” during broadcast

You would think that a player who is as well known as Robert Griffin III wouldn’t get his name wrong during a broadcast, but Fox’s Dick Stockton called him “Robert Griffin Jr.”  Not sure why or how this happened, but a surprising mistake nonetheless.
