Even in defeat, Robert Griffin III – aka "Black Jesus" – continues to collect praise from his peers.

Following the Redskins' tough Week 7 loss to the Giants, in which Griffin recorded 347 total yards, several members of Big Blue -- from one-time skeptic Osi Umenyiora to coach Tom Coughlin -- openly gushed about the first-year quarterback.

“That guy is flat-out unbelievable,” Umenyiora said, via the Washington Post. “That’s the best QB we’ve played this year.”

It's a complete 180 from Osi, who initially refused to buy into the hype surrounding "Bob," as he once referred to him. That tune began to change last week, when "Bob" became "Sir Robert Griffin III" after a few highlight-making plays, but it's clear RG3 finally earned the respect of the Giants defensive end.

And his teammates.

“[Griffin] takes away from your enthusiasm for the game a little bit,” said Justin Tuck.

Officially, Griffin completed 20-of-28 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed 8 times for 89 yards, showing immense speed that wows the opposition.

Just ask Chris Canty.

“He’s faster in person than he is on tape. He’s very, very fast. He’s a very talented young man. He’s going to have a lot of success in this league,” said Canty.

The coup de grâce came from Coughlin, who's not exactly one to dish out platitudes.

“He looks like the fastest guy on tape and he’s certainly the fastest guy on the field," he said. "When he pulls the ball down, when you break down contain and he goes outside, you are just praying someone is going to run him out of bounds.”

While Griffin's legs are grabbing headlines, it's his arm that's keeping the team in contention. With the Redskins trailing late in the fourth quarter, Griffin uncorked a long ball and hit Santana Moss in stride for a picture-perfect 30-yard score, giving the Skins the (short-lived) lead. He also converted a 4th and 10 earlier in the drive.

Though Washington would go on to lose, Griffin again showed his talents and why all of the nicknames, hype, and kudos are well deserved.
