The Giants have stumbled out of the gates to an 0-4 start on the season, making Eli Manning‘s team one of the most disappointing groups in the league. New York hasn’t shown that they’re a club that can win so far, but at least one member of the Giants believes that’s all they’ll be doing from here on out. Giants safety Antrel Rolle spoke with an unheralded amount of confidence and optimism on the heels of getting blown out for the third straight game. After losing to the Chiefs 31-7, the veteran spoke positively about the direction he thinks his team will take the rest of the season. “I believe we can go 12-0 from this point on,” Rolle told ESPNNewYork on Monday. “People can look at me like I’m crazy, but you know I could really give a damn at this point. This is what I truly believe. I know the talent of this team, I know the mindset of this team, we just have to go out there and put it all together.” The Giants are off to their worst start in 26 years, they have been outscored 68-7 during the past two weeks, their run-game is essentially non-existent and their banged up offensive line has allowed 14 sacks this season. But still, Rolle envisions a bright future for his Giants, and as far as he’s concerned, the Giants are starting fresh with a clean slate. “This is a 12-game season for us at this point,” Rolle said. “Nothing that has taken place matters. That’s something that we’ve been preaching today. Guys just have to believe again. We have to get back that good feeling again, as far as winning.” The Giants’ pursuit for a 12-game win streak may be a lofty goal, but despite their poor record, becoming a playoff team is not out of the question. New York is only two games out of first place in the NFC East. “We’ve played some bad football, but this is gonna be a true testament of who this New York Giants football team is,” Rolle said. “We can either go in a hole, and hang our heads, or we can come out fighting. And I believe we’re definitely gonna come out fighting. You all haven’t seen the end of us yet.” Filed under: Anna Fogel, Headlines, New York Giants, NFL
