Pro Sports Daily:
One week on the football field is all Terrell Thomas needed to get most of his quiet confidence back and a handful of practices is all he needed to once again believe in his battered body.
Now the Giants cornerback is pondering the next step in his complicated return to action. After two years away Thomas may suit up for this Sunday’s preseason home game against the Indianapolis Colts.
“We don’t know yet” Thomas said Wednesday. “We’re just taking it one day at a time. . . . There’s no rush to get me out there but if I’m ready to go I’m ready to go.”
The Giants had a scare when safety Antrel Rolle sprained his ankle on Monday but they could soon gain back a valuable vet in Thomas. Rolle was seen walking without a boot and doing drills on Wednesday. While nothing is certain — and Thomas stressed that the team “still has a lot of time before Sunday” — there’s a growing feeling that Thomas who is battling to come back from a third ACL tear in his right knee could be ready to play

As I was flipping through channels, I came across this debate on how good LeBron James could’ve been if he decided to go for pro football instead of pro basketball.

In the NFL, the difference between making to it the Super Bowl and missing the playoffs entirely is razor thin and perhaps no team embodies this more over the past few years than the New York Giants. In 2010, they finished 10-6 which most of the time is good enough to make the postseason, but not that year. In 2011, they won the Super Bowl but finished 9-7 which somehow got them...

It’s been one day since strong safety Antrel Rolle suffered an ankle sprain in practice and the New York Giants are now looking for someone to step into his role in the secondary. Since joining the Giants in 2010, Rolle has been an unsung hero. Now sidelined due to injury Big Blue could turn to a former Pittsburgh Steeler to fill the void.
There will be no more “non-standard customized facemasks in the NFL.” But Justin Tuck will still have his signature look.
The NFL began reminding teams in June that all visible game-day items worn by players – including facemasks – had to conform to league rules and those rules include limits on facemasks mandating a maximum of four horizontal bars and three vertical bars...

Analyzing stats from preseason games is a ludicrous thing to do, but being as I specialize in the ludicrous, below is a look at the personnel groupings the Pittsburgh Steelers starting offense used in their preseason opener against the New York Giants. Of the 18 non penalty plays that offense ran Saturday night, eight of [...]
