As I am writing this I prepare myself for the responses “you are crazy” or “you’re an idiot”. I have already been diagnosed as a little crazy so I would agree with that response. When it comes to the 2011 Green Bay Packers vs. the 2012 Green Bay Packers though, I believe I may be on to something. How is it a 7-3 team could have better Super Bowl chances than a 15-1 team, I’m more than happy to explain. Looking back to 2011, the Packers and Aaron Rodgers seemed poised to pull off the perfect season. Green Bay was 13-0 when they were upset by the 6-8 Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. After the loss the Packers had nothing to play for, and with a first round bye locked up the decision was made to rest their starters in Week 17 vs. the Detroit Lions. Green Bay went on to win the game and had the following week off to prepare for the New York Giants. After 2 weeks of rest the Packers starters came out rusty against the Giants.
