As the start of the preseason draws ever closer, the Green Bay Packers are still in the middle of training camp and many players have made some lasting impressions.  For some players, their start of training camp has been one they would like to forget.  For others, their training camp has been a way of showing the coaching staff that they deserve to earn some more snaps.  Here’s a look at three players who have done very well during training camp. Mike Daniels With the departure of defensive end Ryan Pickett, Daniels should expect to see more playing time this season.  While Daniels hasn’t been having many huge hits, he has been the vocal leader of the defense so far.  Even though it is only training camp, Daniels has been trying to get the defense energized, and as he said, “I’m looking to make the defense a lot meaner.” If you look at the NFL, the reigning Super Bowl champs are the prime example for that statement.  The Seattle Seahawks and their “Legion of Boom” play very physical and when they hit you, they hit hard.  They play with a toughness the Packers defense has been lacking for the past few years.  If the Packers defense wants to get better, they need to play with a little more of an edge.  There are many ways a player can impact his team during training camp.  Daniels being very vocal is one of those ways. Sean Richardson If someone were to ask who made the first interception of the Packers 2014 training camp, I bet not many people would say safety Sean Richardson.  Even more impressive is that Richardson didn’t have his interception against the second or third team.  He picked off Aaron Rodgers on a pass intended for Jordy Nelson.  While Richardson more than likely will not be competing for a starting safety spot, there is still plenty of playing time to earn.  Defensive coordinator Dom Capers likes to run many defensive packages with a lot of defensive backs.  So, as long as Richardson keeps on impressing, more playing time will be in his future. Jared Abbrederis Abbrederis is living every football player’s dream.  The Wisconsin kid, who went to the University of Wisconsin, was drafted by his home state team.  Abbrederis has shown that while he doesn’t have the deep threat speed, he has the precision and the hands to make to team.  According to Rod Demovsky of ESPN.com, Abbrederis had one the great catches of camp while being covered by Tramon Williams.  Unfortunately for Abbrederis, his training camp came to a screeching halt after he tore his ACL on Wednesday.  The Packers’ fourth round draft pick would have been a nice weapon for Aaron Rodgers, but we will have to wait until next year to see for ourselves. As it goes with these three players, there are several different ways a player can “win” during training camp.  With so many other players performing well, the Packers have many things to look forward too when they begin their preseason on Saturday against the Tennessee Titans.
