Heels in the Pro’s: T.J. YatesIn Chapel Hill some of the fans have been wondering about the team’s quarterback, Bryn Renner. The questions being raised are from whether or not it is the gunslinger’s fault of what is going on with the squad, all the way to the possibility if Renner should be benched, especially since right now he is battling an injury. But, from the sounds of it, Renner might not be the only UNC Football QB that is part of some sort of controversy, when it comes to the fan base, on whether or not he should play. After the Houston Texans loss to the Seattle Mariners, fueled by a pick six from Matt Schaub, a fan was caught on camera burning the quarterback’s jersey in the parking lot. This is the third game in a row that the gun slinger has thrown a pick six. On a side note, kind of ironic that when a QB is not lighting it on fire, it’s the fans that want to! But it did not end there, even a local restaurant became part of the taunting… No, this isn't at Richard Sherman's house. It's at a Houston area restaurant. pic.twitter.com/lo32Cg4kBS — Terry Blount (@TerryBlountESPN) October 2, 2013 …pick six toppings that you will pay dearly for! With T.J. Yates being the back up to Schaub in Houston you have to wonder will the coaching staff keep the starter if the struggles continue into the second quarter of the season. The franchise is 2 and 2, having lost two in a row, and their the next opponents being San Francisco (2-2), St. Louis (1-3) and Kansas City (4-0), will the Texans go do with Schaub or will they insert Yates if more mistakes are made? The former Heel has led this squad before, back in 2011, when Schaub went down with an injury, playing in eight games, two of them in the playoffs. Overall Yates did a decent job throughout his stint under center. This could help the coaches make a decision if they were to pull Schaub, as his replacement has a decent knowledge of the offense. On whether or not we will see Yates this (or other Sundays) only time will tell, but if the Texans fail to turn it around I would not be surprised if a move is not done. Maybe not for the rest of the year, but for a drive or part of a game, be it to shake up things or just to send a message to Schaub. If that was to happen, you will get to see Yates playing once again on an NFL field.
