 The Indianapolis Colts were completely torched Week 1 against the Raiders by their read option offense. Terrelle Pryor was able to properly read the end and was able to rush for over 110 yards. He had a great game. That game, the Colts looked out of sync on defense and were missing assignments which was the main reason why they couldn’t stop the read option; they couldn’t play contain. The guy that played contained on the play either bit or he was fooled by Pryor’s elusiveness. It was a real disaster and it almost cost the Colts the game. Last week they went up against the Dolphins who didn’t use the read option offense, but now will have to face the 49ers this week and the Seahawks in 2 weeks. These are two top 3 teams that utilize the option offense quite a bit, and if the Colts plan on beating them, they’ll have to be able to slow it down.
